Can't do any of the heresy missions

I have updated today and launched the game. After doing the first story quest and then going to Mara's house I cannot progress the story. I have checked everywhere and even marked the quest to track but no indicators show in the map. Researching online and there should be 2 missions available to launch from the last city but they are not there for me. Currently on step 5, and stuck. Anyone know where I should go or what I could do to progress? I did not pay for the season pass, but nothing online says I should have it, and yes I have the final shape DLC.

you need the SEASON pass to do SEASONAL content, i feel like this is just common sense

Ok, so I have to pay to do any quests for Heresy on top of already having paid for the Final Shape DLC?

if you didn't buy the annual edition, then yes, because you are only paying for the dlc, not the season pass, that is separate. you are purchasing a campaign, not a episode (or season pass)

Thanks for the explanation. I always thought a season pass was to get the extra weapons and perks, not to actually play the game. Wonder why the DLC was so expensive then.

Yeah similarly to how I explained it to you, they also asked if the person had purchased the season pass. The whole thing is dumb I get it, but it's their version of a cash grab.

Yeah, It's a horrible cash grab because before episodes where included in the DLC, and the season pass was only for extra stuff. But now, it's like Bungie wants players to pay $100 a year to play a game and then fire their devs because they need to save money?

I was really looking forward this season as I used to play it back on the D1 days, but I'm not going to feed their greed any more. Sorry Bungie, not gonna pay for your CEO's car collection.

Season passes have been required for the seasonal storylines since Season of the Forge, December 2018, with the only significant change since then being the addition of the free/premium reward tracks, which began with Season of the Undying, Oct 2019.

Off and on, a single pass has been given with the main expansion (you got one with Shadowkeep, you didn't get one with Beyond Light, etc), but there's always been an annual pass edition too with all the year's passes.

You've never got all the year's seasonal story content just from standard expansion ownership.

Don't take this as supporting the current model, just you sounded like you were saying this is something new, when it's been a thing in Destiny 2 for the vast majority of expansions.
