As per the schedule, Destiny 2 is offline from 3:45am PST until 9am PST (time of weekly reset). You can view the schedule and other information yourself at the below link.

Store page says that around 2000 players in game. How someone can be in game if servers offline?

That's correct.

The weekly reset is at 9am PST / 5pm GMT (UK) and that is when the game is due to come back online.
