For me personally, in an anti-barrier season an exotic scout is always nice, and with the Vorpal perk boosting damage, assisted with the Rimecoat Raiment, it can solo kill any champion, which is wonderful. It's not a bad weapon, it's just that in the same slot you can just use Wishender or Rev Zero, both of which are intrinsic AB instead of seasonal.
In comparison with a legendary scout, DMT has a flat 30% damage bump against red bars and generates heavy ammo from Finder mods slightly faster for being an exotic. The main appeal for DMT is that you can hipfire fast and it has versatility, but it's just not very interesting. Incan causes explosions, heal clip causes a heal burst; it's visually more impactful. While imo both have their places, it's sad how a legendary version is cooler than the original exotic.
Exactly ! I really love the weapon and it's design and I remember using it years back where i felt like wow this hits hard. But now on prismatic hunter with a scout like in my op,you can clearly see who's the winner. Because the non exotic is also just much more interesting to play with, knowing you have all these other effects going on. Im on hunter, and this weap also gives me stealth on the elemental burn kills on top. Everything about this is so much more interesting as Dead mans while doing more damage overall and clearing add kills with explosions or burn and able to heal yourself and allies. Where Dead man is lacking all of this.
Just want Dead man to be atleast on par as other scout rifles. And be more interesting with its effects.
Scout rifles haven't ever been good in Destiny 2. Only in GM content when you need anti-barrier or something. Everything other weapon arch-type does the job quicker and better.
The only idea I personally have is for it to have a special variant of Kinetic Tremors that is much stronger but only triggers off Hipfire, and that the enemies affected by it take extra damage from the ADS version, so you swap between the two for ideal damage. Even then, Kinetic weapons just can't compete with elemental synergy.
craft it.
I think it needs some sort of explosion effect going on aswell, for instance when hitting 2 precision shots it does an explosion effect,or in any other way. The single target dmg is the main issue i feel where its just lacking against others that arent even exotic. I just feel theres really never a reason anymore to pick this weap above anything else, where non exotics can still do it better.
Exactly.back then. Thats the issue, if you read my Op the comparison to the non exotic scout im using vs DMT is quite massive actually and I really love the rifle overall, I also love the looks of it and that ennio morricone whistle. But my other "test" non exotic scouts just do it better. Thats why I want this scout to be on par of others again and I just feel it needs something extra, like atleast some explosion effect going on aswell. Its from a Pve perspective though, I have no idea how this does in Pvp.
