When you start a new character, you start at 0.
Doing campaigns gets you to 200.
Doing strikes, crucible, and gambit gets you to 300.
Doing Nightfalls, dungeons, and competitive PvP gets you up to 350.
Raids, Legend/Master Nightfalls, and solo dungeons get you up to 380.
Trio or lower raids, Duo or Solo GMs, and flawless dungeons get you to 400.
And the idea is that each of these completions ups you like 5 or so Light Level, so you can easily hit max in a single week. Each DLC you could decay back down to 300, with legend campaign getting you to 365. No RNG, just straight "do the stuff", from the beginning to end, seeing all D2 has to offer.
Seriously D2s stronger aspect is the raids, hands down, but they drip feed raids so hard.
Also i would love a campaign mode where you can opt to play the entire D2 story from start to finish and you jsut download parts of the story as you go along, so you can go back, do all teh crap in the zones you want, and get the full narrative experience.
Also i would love it if they allowed us to have the first 2 slots of our weapons be either kinetic or kinetic. So if you want you can take 2 kinetic weapons or 2 energy weapons.
Another one is i would love for them to go mad lad and say that you can take either an exotic Power or special weapon, AND a exotic primary weapon.
Like just get wild with it, the entire point of the game is to be a power fantasy, let us play that to the fullest, them throwing their hands up and going yolo prismatic was great.
Not so much a "drip feed" thing as it is that nobody does raids. If they stopped doing campaigns and put that effort into a second raid each DLC, I'd be on board, but 97% of players wouldn't, and that's why we get 1 raid a year. If Vesper's Host is any indication, they're trying to make Dungeons a sort of "tide you over" in between raids, because next year it seems we're only getting 1 of each.
I really think making raids mandatory for leveling would spike up interest in them and therefore give them more reason to keep making them at a high pace.
The problem is that your delusional and get discussions about the game which go in a way that you dont like deleted. Raids are at a dead end and has been for years. People aren't interested in doing hours on end to figure out the mechanics of them, for every little step.
As easy as that!!!
Infact, everything you have written so far about the game is just straight bs. Gamers want to shoot the stuff, get the stuff. Bungie never cared about raids to develop a learning curve for each raid, it was always, "you figure this one out".
Thats not very interesting to the majority of playerbase, and making raids mandatory in some way isn't going to force people into watching youtube videos and guides to learn how to do them. And to begin with this is the least issue of d2. D2 is very buggy.
But you wouldn't understand that, because your head isn't in the game. Your stuck in the what could have been. A fantasy of your own.
Even last night i had to quit a game, because my hunter wouldnt stop firing, disconnect input device, still the same - it was just the game. The game needs bug fixing and new engine more then anything.
And even that may be too late by now.
Not just a balance issue, would probably also cause a landslide of bugs and issues, a hornet's nest Bungie will never kick.
