Getting red death in episode heresy?

I'm a returning player and apparently missed episode echoes where red death reformed was released. I can see that the red death is in the monument of lost light but requires the final shape DLC...

Is there really no other way to get it if you missed it in the previous season?

There's no other way to get it here and now. For anyone who didn't get it from the Echoes pass, it is now always going to require Final Shape ownership to be able to pick it up.

Ah okay what about the catalyst?

This episode's pass, at level 145 (available when Act II arrives), will give the catalysts for Red Death, Alethonym, and Lodestar.

You could get it if you own final shape deluxe, and use the browser extension on bungies site to claim seasons pre last one loot from the level one tier.

Ive never used it myself, so you would have to look into it but thats all i know. I dont know why bungie doesnt just provide that by default

you can pick it up just like any other previous dlc exotics from tower.
