I only pay for the yearly editions with all sessions but still I have the same job simulator slog as example in the new "heavy metal" as a free to play player.
And the same "need" to pay again real money to accelerate the rank progress.
I am willing to pay $80 for a new year of DLC as a dedicated player. Not everyone is a dedicated player, so for those players I recommend sales or key sites. Bungie balances their prices around those who will play at launch, and people who don't care about playing at launch.
The prices are not too high; if they were, fewer people would buy it. However, those who would like to pay less have the option to save money.
I would be willing to pay $100 for the ultimate edition, but since I have the option to save $18+, I'm taking that option. I'm not just donating $18 to blunko for the giggles.
That says a lot about you right there.
Free markets work that way, those who don't see the value don't spend their money on it, those that do will.
Then there are the people who try to insult those that do and call them fanboys. I AM a fan of this game, Bungie, not so much. It's my money and just like you I can spend it how I please. This is my MAIN game, so $6.83/month to play the new content is a good deal.
story and meta gun wise
Today the game is F2P sure, but charging you +40$ DLCs worth 4-6hrs of pve content, and other season passes for twice as much ?
Even if you ram the game 24/24 on pvp, I feel it's still scammy af since it's an overthought of a side mode imo.
And because you main a single game doesn't mean you should ignore the business plan elaborated to litterally milk you out of value. No average f2p player will ever hop in at this rate. The game is maintained in mediocrity thanks to whales keeping it alive against all odds.
D2 should have died 3-4 years ago, putting bungie in a situation they should have either rethink the whole product for a better experience overhaul, or shut it down.
Btw the lack of codex and proper tutorials IN-GAME is incredible.
Seen a YT where some veteran was assisting a new player in his first steps in the game, I was speechless as to how not friendly this dump of a game is toward unexperienced people.
It throws legacy vocabulary in "hints" lol, or displays notices so out of place or way too late. And of course it's missing 75% explanations of everything, from gameplay to menus handling and ressources purposes.
Google should charge them a hefty rent because I've probly spent more hours searching for answers on internet than playing the actual game.
Personally, I don't buy new games very often as I either play games I already have or play games on Xbox Game Pass so spending £80 every year is a reasonable price to pay
What are you even talking about bro? The entire content(minus cosmetics obviously) of destiny was just on sale on humble bundle for like $45
