Crucible is insufferable.
I am new to Destiny 2, started during Heresy. I did my first ever comp placements today. Went 0-7 and never had better than 0.3 KDA and somehow still placed in Silver. I don't belong there. I don't even want to play Crucible but the game REQUIRES it for certain weapons so I have to suffer through it. If the game is going to force us to play it for certain drops and seasonal missions they should at least put me in bottom of bronze where I can at least lose by less than 25. And now if I want to complete the seasonal missions to get the bright dust I now have to turn around and bash my head against a wall in Trials to get 20 round wins. PvP in this game is horrible and it makes no sense that Bungie forces it for some things.

You aren't forced to do trials, you can freely skip of that challenge and do a different one

Have you tried not accepting being dogwater, improving your mindset and trying to improve?

Nobody forces you to do anything you don't want to do. The game has different rewards for different activities. If you don't want to do those activities, you don't get those rewards, and the thing about it is that you don't NEED anything with competitive requirements. Every single last piece of PvE content can be done up to and including world first races for Raids with gear you obtain without ever setting foot in a competitive game mode.

If you WANT those rewards, then you need to do the requirements to get them just like any other item in the game.

Don't worry about Competitive or Trials if you're new. Find a set of weapons you enjoy using and a build you have fun playing, go in to Control or Iron Banner when it goes live, and just play to learn from your mistakes like any other PvP mode in any other game.

I punched my way up in to Diamond Elo before an Elo system was even added to the game officially just to know that I could, and ever since then I've just been running around with meme builds I think are funny. When I'm bored I just go invis spam Rat King or pull some ancient Red War gun with rolls you can't get anymore from my vault and use those. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around in control can be fun, you just have to get out of the mindset of not having fun unless you're winning.

there are other thing to do aside from just doing pvp bro, just grind pve
how do people have below 1.0 in a game with bullet magnetism
This is why those quests sit there flashing at me after 400+ hours.

I don't give a toss about the rewards or the mode.

Because everybody else is running around with god roll PvP weapons that simply just deal more damage and I have whatever random guns I've come across while playing. If both players abuse bullet magnetism but one of them has a pulse rifle that can kill in one burst and the other player has nothing close to that then no amount of bullet magnetism will help. If I had the same gear as them I would do fine. And when I am against players that aren't running hard meta god roll gear I do fine. The way Crucible is designed will always make it wildly unfair for the player who has less playtime. That isn't a competitive skill based game. That is a time intensive grind test masquerading as a competitive game. If I wanted to do that I would go play OSRS instead.

If you don't do all of the seasonal missions you don't get the bright dust which means that you can't get more cosmetics without forking over even more money for this wildly overpriced game. I only paid 45 bucks for everything and I still feel like that was too much. I'm not spending 10 dollars on a single emote when I could get it for free from just playing.

Never mind the fact that several decent weapons, like Redrix, are locked to ONLY dropping from Crucible and Trials. Which, in and of itself, is equally annoying but for different reasons.

If you are talking about the big pile of bright dust for doing the challenges, You don't need to do all of them, you can leave some of them out. If you are just talking about the amount of dust the challenges give you in general, they give you like 50 dust most of the time, so they arent worth.
Also if you want Redrix, just get BXR Battler. Same frame and just as good, no pvp required.

i find it funny that no one refutes the fact that the matchmaking and disparity of weapon viability is a big pain point for most if not all pvp players since they'd have to admit that EP rose isnt fun to play against for the 50th time
You're new to D2 but playing competitive - that's the problem. Of course it's going to be sweaty. Enjoy unranked for a while and get used to it first. I haven't touched Crucible in probably over a year and played an unranked control match yesterday, placed top of my team, our team won, and I was just using whatever weapons I currently had equipped (not meta weapons or anything special).

I won't lie and say Crucible is a perfect experience, but it's one of those things where the less you think about it and just dive in, the more enjoyable it becomes. Stop focusing on K/D. If you plan on running Trials for drops, try to find a group who is willing to help you and use team comms. Attempting it solo is a bad time.

You are absolutely not forced to do it and you absolutely do not need to farm bright dust from crucible, what a crazy concept. Most of the rewards from crucible/trials are guns that play better in pvp than pve, you don't need them if you don't like doing a lot of crucible. There's plenty of bright dust to be had from other areas of the game, I generally sit on 12k dust between resets and only pick up cosmetics that I actually like.

So don't.

No, you do not need to have any weapon rewards from crucible/trials.

seasonal missions

The seasonal challenges are completely optional ways to get xp and the occasional weapon roll, they're not important or essential in any way. You can skip the pvp ones, it's fine.

bright dust

Bright dust isn't a big deal, most of the cosmetics for dust aren't very appealing and you'll have plenty of dust from just doing pve stuff.

The ONLY time I agree with your overall anger at crucible is when it comes to exotic catalysts that require pvp objectives.

Crucible is the most unbalanced mode. It's a shame that Bungie made some of the best multiplayer with Halo and did the worst with Crucible in D2
Psychus Apr 17 @ 10:28am
yeah, you're right.

the way bungie tries to incentivize people to get dunked on in PvP because they've never been able to make the mode engaging is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

but hey, it's only like half the game, if you're listening to the wails of those who can compartmentalize.
