Necrochasm builds?

I'm a hunter main and really trying to make the gun work. Unfortunately it seems every time I try to go for the precision kill the enemy will flinch like crazy and either lean back forcing a chest shot, or they will put a hand up.
It's honestly kinda weird how specific the weapon is with all the work your expected to do to get it.
Sunshot and Graviton don't need precision kills AND they are energy so they work on shields.

Is there anything anyone can think of that would make this weapon easier to work with and add some consistency?

the gun has really high aim assist so just aim a little above their head to get easy precision kills

the thrall explosions do arc damage so try pairing it with arc-based gear for synergy like mothwraps or something

I use to rock both a kinetic AND arc siphon since Necrochasm use to proc both. That doesn't seem to work anymore though.
