how does bungie ban for xim/cronus?
do they do hardware bans or just ban the account like they used to in apex legends? seems bungie isnt doing much against them when theres clans and plenty of people posting themselves using it in pvp and have been for years.

i hope I don't get temp ban for asking this like i did in the forums. I'm just trying to understand why bungie is letting this happen for this long. simple question.

For security reasons, Bungie does not disclose how they detect any sort of cheating. If they did, it would put the security of the game at great risk.

If you suspect anyone of cheating, use the report tools which can be found at the below link.

that answers how they detect. that wasn't my question tho. im asking what way do they ban compared to other games. some just ban the account and not others on hardware or ip ban. whatever way they are doing doesn't seem to be effective if people are cheating for years using a xim and going flawless 1500+ times before getting banned. if reporting suspected cheaters was that easy, there wouldnt be clans posted themselves using cheats going against streamers that have multiple clips of going against them lol

The only "ban" Bungie issues is a permanent one. Bans are issued for players who cheat and other severe terms of service violations. However, there are other punishments as well.

Restrictions - These are issued for those who have poor internet connectivity, constantly leave matches, and other reasons Bungie see's fit. Restrictions last for 2 weeks or 2 months.

Suspensions - These are issued for those who leave matches frequently before they end. These last for 30 or 60 minutes.

Full information on Bungie's ban policy can be found at http://bungie.net/ban

. if reporting suspected cheaters was that easy

It is. All you have to do is either report them in-game (best method), report them through your game history, or by the other method(s) noted in the link below.

I'm frequently reporting players for various ToS violations (such as inappropriate names), and Bungie frequently sends me a message thanking me for the report as well as letting me know that they have taken action.

Reporting does in fact work. It could take Bungie several weeks, months or even a year to fully investigate the hundreds of thousands of user reports they get daily, but they do take action against anyone who violates the policies.

Bungie takes reports of cheating very seriously. Please continue to use the report tool against anyone you suspect of malicious behaviour. :)

yeah i get all that but still missing my question. what KIND of ban is it? hardware ban, ip ban, or account ban or some other kind that im unaware of. if a cheater gets banned for cheating, are they hardware ban, ip banned, or account banned. can they get on another account and start back up as they have been or change ips with vpn or have to get another pc if they want?
