Destiny 2

Destiny 2

Statistiken ansehen:
Destiny needs to figure out ho to get more new players in to the game if it wants to survive.
The new player experience if Destiny is one of the most hostile ones i encountered in any online game.
One of the biggest selling points of destiny is its story and world.
But how does the game handle story?
It cut out a huge chunk of it out of the game forever and continues to do so every year.
The game shoves new players in to the latest expansions or seasonal story line against their will. A huge amount of people absolutely hate spoilers and yet destiny literally shoves spoilers down your throat constantly. Most of the story in the main campaigns expect players to have played all the previous removed story content.
I understand the argument that the game would be to big if it didn't remove old content to make room for new content. But obviously there are possible solutions for this.
As of right now Destny 2 as a game only appels to existing players.
And insane people like me who watched 30+ hours of YouTube to catch up on all the story i missed in my 5 break plaything D2.

One solution i could think of would be a separate standalone version of Destiny 2 that is a offline version of the game that lets you play all the previous removed expansions and seasonal content you get for free if you buy the main destiny game solo or in COOP using invites only (as these don't require servers). So that it would not overload the main game servers. For obvious balance reasons progress would not be shared across game versions but at best you would get an ability to unlock cosmetics and skins in the main game based on your progress in the legacy/classic destiny 2 kinda how Guild wars can link whit Guild wars 2.

Its actually hilarious their efforts to keep new players. They want to retain new players but the story doesnt make sense. You have to watch youtube videos and guides for almost any activity. Not to mention all the bugs and glitches. Everything is literally chasing new players away from this game. Destiny 2 is labeled as free to play but doing anything worthwhile costs money and people joke about destiny 2 the most expensive free to play game lol. I dont even know why i am trying to give feedback as bungie has made is abundantly clear that its not welcomed or wanted. I really like this game. Its such a shame how disrespectful bungie is to our time and money. A LOT of people have ill will towards bungie and i dont blame them. Bungies whole mindset towards this game and coming up with content is what is killing this game. They want the cheapest route with maximum profits. They must be sweating bullets with their performance because its not quite what sony expected out of bungie. I think its the whole reason they didnt just give out the dawning event card for free after that whole debacle because they need every penny to show sony that they are worth it. That screams that they are really worried about the future. This next year(2025) will make or break bungie. I guess we will have to wait and see.

I'd pay up to $39.99 for content that was taken from me, repackaged and tossed back in my face. +dungeon keys
Indeed it's a huge problem that as the game evolves, your are forced to follow it either all the time, or pickup wherever the active season is. Fortunately I picked up a physical copy of Destiny 1 for PS 4 so I can play most of the past story-line. Unfortunately my original characters from when the game launched were never carried over, because I had not been playing and never knew of the limitations. From my perspective, there is so much of this game that is cut out, that the story is pretty much a sideways mess of chapters trying to be held together with incomplete tie ins. Even some of the story and cut scenes in the new content are poorly strung together. -_-

You mean like a story mode with all the vaulted story DLC? And then a seperate mindless grinder multiplayer version? Sounds grand.

D3 wouldn't fix a thing, we would still have the same poor management, and the same issues that destiny is having and there are not enough devs at bungie to work on it now because of layoffs

Not having to cater to 15 year old tech in obsolete consoles would be a huge development boon. If D3 had actually happened as originally intended, they wouldn't have made the stupid decision to sunset content in the first place.

Considering half of Destinies marketing and player engagement strategy is Fomo i am not 100% sure about that.
