Pants Mods and Broken Weapons?

Been trying to make an Arc build and wanted to use 2 weapons.

Forbearance - breach loaded, exceptionally ugly, grenade launcher from the onslaught playlist. I mean, a real, real eye sore.

Wardcliff - exotic rocket launcher.

But NEITHER of these seem to reload using the RELOAD mods on pants. Arc Loader + Harmonic Loader. They just refuse to reload.

Switch the weapons, and the mods work fine again.

Anyone know why???

It doesn't say it anywhere in-game, but it's due to a decision made way back when holster mods were introduced. Back then, each holster mod was made for a specific weapon class, not the element-based ones we have now. There was never a holster mod made for Rocket Launchers, nor for Breech-loaded Grenade Launchers, Bungie did not want those two weapon classes to be able to get that benefit from a mod.

Things have changed a bunch since then, but even so, the current holster mods are not intended to work on those two weapon types. So that's why it does not work on those two weapons.

yeah i think that's it. it's those two weapon types. thought i was in the twilight zone for a minute. thanks.
just wish i could find the perk - auto load holster, on forbearance. it might not exist actually - for elemental breach loaders.

Most other breach loaded GLs do get Auto Loading Holster, Forbearance doesn't get it most likely because it already has a perk like Ambitious Assassin

You can use light.gg to see all the available perks on a weapon, as well as all weapons that can roll with a certain perk.

Forbearance for example can't come with Auto Load, but it can have Demolitionist, if that helps. Ambitious Assassin isn't a reload perk but the magazine overflow cuts the number of reloads.

Auto-Load Holster, unfortunately, does not roll on any arc Breechloaded grenade launchers. There's a bunch of Void, Solar and Kinetic ones with it though.

I guess i'll stick with ambitious assassin. works pretty good and the launcher reloads pretty quick.

it's a pretty powerful thing, with that wave frame. i do recommend it for any arc special needs.

holster mod doesn't work on special grenade launcer and rockets. The only way for a grenade to reload itself is with perks.
