So here, alongside The Final Shape until the next big expansion in 2025, we've had Episode: Echoes, now we're in Episode: Revenant, with Episode: Heretic to come.
Each requires a pass to play, giving you access to a short questline, a new activity, exotic weapon quest, access to the weapons released for that episode. During the time that each episode runs, there is a reward track with 200 levels of rewards, which can only be levelled up during this time. There is a free track with rewards all players can claim, and a premium side, which has various consumables, episodic currencies, boosts and bonuses, and exclusive cosmetics.
Seasons that are older than The Final Shape are gone, though some of the content does remain in some form. If you mean Episode: Echoes, the questline, loot, etc, those are all still available, it is just the reward track that you can no longer access, the 200 ranks of rewards. That's unavailable now.
So content-wise im fine with just buying deluxe? I have the base game and dlcs up to lightfall
Yup, just cosmetics and some resources, and boosts that pertain to the current season/episode. As far as gameplay goes, getting the annual pass will allow you to experience the same activities and items as everyone who played when it came out.
If you'r interested in D2 again i'd get that for sure. You get a year season pass it seems if i read correctly. 65$ is less then buying all the seasons as they come out, and you get all the content.
Get that, don't look back, enjoy.
