So how do you gather Intel?

I am stuck at Operation Elbrus.
I have to collect some intel, but none drops. I finished Public Event on Throne World, but progress is zero. Maybe nothing dropped cause it was Heroic. Then I did Gambit, but again 0 progress? How do you even progress in weekly story missions?

the intel is somethink that regulary drops if it does not drop it most likely means you have already the max amount (2000) of it so you either need to play the psi obs mission and open a chest that costs intel or delete the ones you have in your inventory

Inventory says I have 2K, but the quest that says I need 500 shows 0/500. What do do?

delete the 2k the mission wants you to get 500 it does not count the ones you already have you get 500 from finishing a strike or 2 public events already so it is not a loss

Go do a seasonal battle ground or two and open the right-hand chest at the end, then you'll be able to acquire more.

This. The quest isn't asking you to "have" 500, it is asking you to "get" 500. Kind of dumb, yes, but as mentioned here just deleting your max stack so you can start earning more does work.

after getting 2000 you either have to spend them or discard cause 2000 is all you can have

Just go into the psiops battleground, spend 500 on the second chest and then do 1/2 strikes for the quest.

Idk lol. You also get some upon doing battlegrounds, so you can just cycle trough it.
