I haven't played WF in a while, mainly because they still haven't implemented cross-progression, but I'd say I genuinely enjoyed farming in Warframe more and I think the moment to moment gameplay is more enjoyable, mainly because they nailed traversal in movement in that game.
I also enjoy the variety of playstyles on offer via the Warframes.
Both games have a good variety of activities to choose from. Destiny 2 will ask more of you however with hard paywalls to content. You could experience more of Warframe without spending a penny. I'd argue the content in Destiny 2 can be more enjoyable especially with friends and the raids both in D1 and D2 were very well done. I think co-op play is stronger in Destiny from an end-game perspective.
From an artistic perspective, I think Destiny wins. Many a nice looking piece of armour and weaponry to choose from. Sound design is also top notch and the music is great as well. Both games have a variety of means to make you stand-out and cement your individuality appearance wise.
I like that there's some decent player input when it comes to the in-game economy for Warframe. You don't have that sort of freedom in Destiny, all monetisation and economy is controlled by Bungie.
Last time I played, the Forge / Foundry timers were a pain in the backside to be honest and arguably one of Warframe's worst elements. On the plus side, you usually have more than enough toys and activities to tinker with / play with that waiting for something to unlock, whilst annoying, isn't too awful.
When getting into Warframe, I felt I had a better "New Player Experience" than with Destiny 2. Luckily, I had some info, lore etc to fall back on after playing the prequel, but I have friends that have tried getting into D2, only to be overwhelmed as well as confused, mainly on the fact that the community will usher / push for players to hit up YouTube and watch hour long videos to get an understanding of the story and lore / form connections with the characters. There's also this sense of an invisible middle finger given to new players from Bungie with their approach to FOMO and a mantra of "well, you like / want that? Tough, should have played earlier". Mods, cosmetics, titles etc.
Both are most certainly worth playing. Once cross-progression hits though, I'll likely be rotating Destiny 2 out for Warframe as I enjoy it more.
As for gameplay and everything else, the game is fantastic. It's beautiful as hell, there's great music and very nice shooting mechanics. The game has a typical pve mission for 3 players, if you like pvp then it's here too, and also there is a hybrid mode that combines the pve horde mode with something like pvp invasions from Dark Souls. And also the game has raids and dungeons, which I think is the best experience that a cooperative shooter can provide. I've never seen anything like it in shooters.
I played a little bit of Warframe, not as much as some, but I did get some idea of the game. The two games are a bit similar, but in depth they are completely different. If you make an analogy with other games, Warframe is like Diablo and Destiny 2 is like World of Warcraft.
Yeah, that.
D2 = pay for content updates
WF = very grindy
D2 = grindy
Both are good in their own ways.
Destiny: sunset once in its life and has said its never going to agian, 600 weapon/armor vault for free.
If you like a compeletely free wholesome experience with a deep story and enjoyable characters, a wide variety of specialized weapons with a lot of free cosmetics, the most intense Housing you will find in any F2P shooter made by devs who are respecting the Game's Lore, choose Warframe.
It comes down to what kind of player you are, Destiny is designed for a casual and very forgettable experience. Fear of missing out is the name of the game instead of fun and freedom like in Warframe.
