Power Grenade Launchers are easy to use as they'll generally just explode wherever they impact unless they have a perk that says otherwise; Lightweight Grenade Launchers will explode on a direct hit against an enemy but will bounce off other surfaces, as already noted you can control the detention by holding/releasing the trigger; Waveframe Grenade Launchers don't care about timing but are meant to be fired at the ground in front of your target and are pretty much worthless if a direct hit is your goal.
