convinced legendary lost sectors have a limit

this week I did some legendary lost sectors just for fun. got 3 exotic legs, today I wanted to build with an exotic arms piece so i grinded HARD.
The first 2 legendary runs, I got exotics but not what I wanted, so I did it for 2 more hours, each run lasting a little over 5 minutes. After frustration I successfully completed 3 master difficulty runs.
The very first 2 drops I got were all that I got.
For this, I'm convinced that lost sector exotics are capped at 5 per week.

That poster never mentions the time frame. 25%? Over what? A year? a week?

Its RNG, period. Some people have been grinding Mythoclast when the raid is featured and getting it after over 250 Atheon kills. Your experience isn't special, nor is it representative of anything. You just got screwed by RNG, as have been many others in other areas of the game, that's it.

3 master runs in a row though? Maybe i should try a little more on master.

Over several seasons. Not all sectors are available at the same season. OP mentioned both bad and good streaks and didn't find evidence for CD or limits existing. You can't check his drops, but you can check his history[www.bungie.net] and he spends a lot of time in lost sectors. He's not the only one.
Legend is better when you want to farm and can't do Master as fast.

Platinum should only max your chance at getting an exotic, not be a requiremnet, but I am not sure.
I never payed attention to it, nor do I run many legend sectors.

I always assumed that the more champions you killed the higher the chances of the rewards, even tho the majority of the time platinum got me glimmer, I've never received anything exotic lower than a platinum result in either legend or master, so I assume anything lower than platinum has such a lower drop rate its not worthwhile skipping champions.

I always assumed that the more champions you killed the higher the chances of the rewards, even tho the majority of the time platinum got me glimmer, I've never received anything exotic lower than a platinum result in either legend or master, so I assume anything lower than platinum has such a lower drop rate its not worthwhile skipping champions.

I was worried score was related so i made sure to kill everything i could find.
I completed a couple more runs a little while ago and one dropped an exotic (not the one I wanted lol)
So I'm now convinced I'm just incredibly unlucky on the day I want something specific lol

I've done lost sectors ad nasuem on multiple occasions and have gotten well over 5 exotics in as little as 1.5 hours several times. It's purely RNG.

Never bother with master lost sectors. 9/10 times they are a waste of time and effort for what's just under a 10% increase. Just get a platinum ranking every time for your best chances. Time and score have no effect.

Platinum is not required, but gets you the best chance to drop. I've not done enough testing myself to get at actual numbers, but it seems like to me that below platinum the drop rate chance drops dramatically. At platinum on legendary it is around 25% chance. I was grinding out a piece and got 2 exotics on my 2nd and 3rd runs. I didn't see another exotic for over 2 hours (it was metamorphosis so that's a lot of runs) and then one dropped every couple of runs after and I got the piece I was after. This is why I always grab all of the low hanging fruit exotics and the Xur engrams etc., The more of the pool that you already have the less time you'll spend grinding what you want.

mate there is no cap ı just got more than 15 exotics in this week and in the arms day ı missed 7 arms and in less than a hour in 15 runs or something like that ı got 5 arms from it back to back and today in the first 2 clear ı got the 2 missed ones ı was very lucky and if ı continue to do it it will give me random arms exotic maybe with better stats you just need to kill all the champions the mobs doesnt matter sometimes you need to kill the mobs in order to continue the lost sector or the champion needs to be spawned and sometimes when the boss is half HP a champion spawns that you need to kill for the platinum reward :) by the way you can kill a champion after you killed the boss too its still gives the platinum reward when you open the chest.

I noticed that LS can glitch out in the way that you go out, turn back to go in, and the lost sector is still looted and not reset, even though you walk like half a mile away from the entrance/transition point.

Happens rarely but when it happens you can't do the same lost sector for like 1-2 hours or sometimes the next day.

Meanwhile, getting 69 stat graviton forfeit exotic from world drop or the average 65 exotic stat boots from a simple crucible match.
