"Follow Hawthorne's Lead..." What's This?

At the tower, i found a spot that could be investigated. Its the middle floor I suppose. You have to walk on metal pipes to get to it but there is a few boxes of what looks to be tapes. I investigated it and Ghost said something about there being a hint "Follow Hawthorne's Lead". I looked it up but i have found nothing.
What's all of this about?

Im thinking its just tid-bits of lore. Or some of them are references to Destiny and previous dlc that are now unplayable. Cuz i found others that look exactly the same around the Tower and they all have their own thing.

There are little tucked away areas in the Tower that you can investigate to find bits of Lore and Info.
I believe you could follow some of them to find an exotic weapon but I don;t know if that thread still exists.

Yeah they are just random lore things, been there since day 1 pretty much. That one is saying that someone is following Hawthorne's lead and stealing supplies from the factions (who have long since fled the Tower at the end of Season 14). There are more of them in various spots in the Tower, EDZ and Nessus.
