4090 what are your fps?
Hey,
I am a bit curious what other might have on average fps on highest settings sine it seem a bit low for me with an 4090.
In open worlds it often go down to 80fps but it in closed smaller dungeos it goes up to 170.
On average I am getting 120fps.

Yes? No?

With my 4070 Ti I get over 175 fps and dips little bit in action heavy / open world.
Seems to me there is something slowing your system down.

Yeah something seems off or I have enabled something thats tearing down my fps.
Hmm, game does not even support ray tracing or something like afaik.

I get the same fps at 4k with my 4090. its a poor optimization thing. if you look at your GPU utilization every time you get lower frames its because the utilization goes down to around 60%

what cpu do you have?
Milkman Apr 16, 2023 @ 12:07pm
my 3070 im usually getting 120 stable for the most part and up to 144 i am running at 1080p though.

I play on 2k so I should even have more fps.
I am not sure what it is, gonna try some things.

it is 100% not the cpu. I have benchmakrs comparing mine to 13900k and they all show there is no fps gain with a more stringer CPU when you have an 4090.

Do you have all maxed out settings!?

it really depends on where your at in destiny because i can be in a lost sector with high frames same as the tower, but if im at terminal overload on Neptune easy 80fps. even if i lower my internal resolution to 25 percent which would be 1080p i wouldn't gain any fps. destiny engine is old and unless they update there API it wont get much better.

i literally go from having 95 utilization with about 25 percent cpu utilization all the way to 50 or 60 gpu utilization while cpu stays the same.

It’s the game trust me. every other game I play the 4090 is awesome! Except for last of us lol.

Think you are being CPU limited in Destiny 2. Using 4090 with 1440p puts a lot of stress on CPU. What CPU does your computer have?

explain to me how this puts a lot of stress to the cpu?
Like how does this not apply to ANY cpu what-so-ever getting stressed put on?
I dont think a i9-13600k is at cpu limit here.

idk. I think its an software issue, just havent figured it out yet.
Normally according to benchmarks I should be running around with 200+fps.

13600K is an i5.

You have a good CPU so shouldn't be a problem.

What I meant was when PC can't utilize GPU fully then CPU has to do more heavy lifting.

I found this video from YT doing 180+ fps with 4090 on Cosmodrome starting area.

Not sure what's limiting the game. Checking GPU, CPU temps and utilization could give some hints what is going on. You could also DDU reinstall drivers if you haven't tried that already.
