Yep, I believe it's range is... with 120's also. It's really a shame how mediocre the gun is, it's nice in PvP sometimes... but there is much better options.

quite garbage,medium range,you might take 9 shots to kill someone and the recoil is quite high.

iirc, the scope is so annoying it's worthless for that reason alone. But the dmg is pretty nuts. If the scope was different, it be awesome.

He's talking about the dot within all sights, and it is somewhat trash. I think it's worse when you put Skins on it, putting the Black Death one is... an issue.

Don't listen to this man, he doesn't know what he's talking about. Crimson is pretty good in PvP, however I personally think it lacks behind 120's. In PvE it's a... well, sort of good but useless option. I used to put on crimson a lot, but in recent content, I find that damage is more important than just Ad clear.

Definitely a PvP based gun. I'd say there are better options in the PvP catagory, but it's solid.

Why bring Crimson to PVE ? its waste of exotic slot,Telesto delete group of enemy adds in a second and with some mod,you had unlimited special ammo drop.

It's a good handcannon, just takes practise to get used to it compared to 140's/120's.

In most PvE content it works just fine because it hits hard, staggers hard, and effectively has bottomless clip as long as you’re getting precision kills, and any kill period heals you, letting you keep going and going. Is it going to get you through GMNF? Probably not, though people have done it.

As for PvP, like I said, and you just re-iterated after saying I “didn’t know what I’m talking about”, Crimson is superseded by a few other options, but those are typically god-rolled hand canons from the current meta. Crimson is much easier to obtain and performs better than the majority of options once you MW for the extra range and build around it. It’s recoil and sight picture are weird and take getting used to, but once you have done so, it lets you flinch the ♥♥♥♥ out of people to win duels and rewards bursting one person down with a bottomless clip and a heal. We’ve been seeing crimson show up quite a bit in higher tier trials lately to compete with the 120 meta and take advantage of people being bad at dealing with flinch. Yes, here other, more consistently better options, but a good crimson build with somebody that’s good at crimson using it can compete with the things that are technically better than it. It’s a high skill floor weapon which is the main reason it isn’t seen as much.

Except... why not use something like Ace instead? It's much better at Ad clear, and probably a bit better for damage overall. Anywho, Crimson does have an issue on that "Chain Precision Kill infinite ammo thing" where the reload has a little delay when you get a kill. Meaning, that it probably won't be that good for PvE... let's also mention that each class has an ability to Regenerate health, on their sub classes of course.

As I said earlier, you don't know what you're talking about. You are clearly exaggerating every weapon you come across, hell, you even said that Hawkmoon is OP once... My point is that while Crimson is a solid weapon, it also lacks behind guns that are better... sure, you have the great flinch that Crimson gives it's opponents, however at the 120 range? It's not very useful. Also, your comment of "We've been seeing it more in Competitive PvP" wouldn't exactly be right, while yes, you've seen it more because of the HandCannon range buff, there isn't exactly a spike of sorts in usage... more people are using Last Word, Nearly all of the 120's in the game (with the exclusion of Strum), and finally you have Ace of Spades/Messenger right behind it. Wouldn't say that Crimson is a "high skill floor weapon" when it's pretty basic, just a low range/high firerate pulse.

When Did I go offtopic? I start with a better replacement for Crimson in PvE, and end my comment with remarks about Crimson in PvP. I'm saying you're over-exaggerating, in of which, you are.

Your point is that Crimson is worthy of a 4.5 rating overall, while I'd say that it's only worth a 3.5 overall... why do you think i'm raging?

I use a lot of HC in crucible and I will say that crimson is pretty good for close and medium ranges. It's stability is high and it doesn't kick like most burst options (pulse rifles) out there. I saw that the catalyst gives it a really good range boost. Can't wait to try it out with that attached! Not as good for long ranges definitely and therefore isn't as versatile.

With the nerf to 120s range coming in the next season, Crimson might be a more viable option then?
