It's literally impossible to beat Prophecy Solo
Jesus ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tap dancing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ christ is this dungeon so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard? It's stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard, as a warlock it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BS how you lose your motes too when you cast rift.

Yes I know there are dozens of videos of some random youtubers who somehow find a meta but many of those videos are outdated and many weapons nerfed in those videos.

Should I just bite the bullet and try LFG? Is the gear even worth all the horific BS or is one of those achievement things?

While it actually is entirely possible to beat Prophecy solo, unless you know exactly what you're doing and have the gear to back up that knowledge, you're going to have a bad time. It was designed for a team of 3, just like every other dungeon. If all you're after is the gear, you should definitely LFG it.

Eh, it's not as hard as you think it is, you either got frustrated and started messing everything up or you don't have good enough weapons, like for example on the 1st boss the hardest thing is dealing with the psions, Trinity Ghoul, Riskrunner, a Warmind Cell build work great for that, then use Well of Radiance with the best sword you have for dps, standing in the Well of Radiance WITH the boss nullyfies the Vex immune laser because it counts as super damage, after that the cube room is pretty straightforward, Witherhoard and any other primary should do for killing the knights and ad clear, and for the final boss it's more frustrating, using Lamet to scratch it's feet while also healing yourself with it's passive was pretty good when i last tried it, other than that, Witherhoard and a Linear Fusion should give you enough dps for the boss and if you're having trouble with the snipers, a scout rifle with explosive rounds to deal more damage also stun them, also, would highly recommend using Devour with Volatile Rounds

Me and a friend managed to beat it togheter so its doable as a duo. However, solo is extremely hard in most end game activities.

If you're not going for any specific challenge, there is no reason to try doing it solo. Flawless Solo Prophecy was the only reason I ever did it solo. No point in making it harder for yourself if you can just get an LFG team or friends.

I have solo flawlessed Prophecy and it does take some work and prep. Getting the proper stat rolls and getting very comfortable with your weapon loadout. Rockets being buffed might make this an easier go as well now since the exploding light+auto loading could be some big time damage on the final boss.

If you are shooting for the Ghost / Sparrow Skins and the Emblem then I really recommend Witherhoard and its catalyst for helping a ton. With void 3.0 I know my run would be easier today than it would have been when I got it on my Titan.

Memorizing/getting comfortable with which places you need to go/shut down go a long way as well.

If you don't care for the achievements and skins just LFG it. It is a very cool dungeon and is a fun run, especially the ribbon road.

My bunny ghost shell disagrees with this statement.

void warlock with devour
riskrunner (very good for survival) / funnelweb w/ well mods. alternatively ikelos smg
sleeper simulant or other high-damage alternative heavy weapon (im not up to date on the ole' seasonal meta)
kinetic grenade launcher with blinding grenades helps tremendously as well
maybe izinagi's burden + auto-loading explosive light palmayra-B rocket launcher (you can craft it so it's fairly easy to get) for boss damage

devour warlock makes everything a cakewalk so long as you can keep it up, which is quite easy considering how it works.

good luck! :)
P.S. you should definitely LFG for help, or i'm sure someone here could help you. hell even i could if you wanted, just ask and provided i'm online i'll help out.

Whilst they are intended to be done with a group of three they're also specifically designed to be completable solo. Unlike raids where some encounters can be soloed whilst not specifically being designed that way.

They're made to be soloable, sure, but they are also made to be completed as a team of 3 primarily.

It's a void season. Wells are meta rn. Build around it.
Not that hard to do solo. Think, practice and git gut.

It’s not impossible to any degree. I used an lfg for my first time and no one died. I’ve been playing for less than six months and can solo it with nothing but a witherhoard(with catalyst) and a mid roll gnawing hunter. If you think that the only FTP dungeon is 100% impossible to solo, then that’s skill issue. I’m a freaking hunter. I’m not very good at pve and RoN is still the only raid I can do. Most of the loot isn’t worth it, especially because there’s no master (for artifice loot). A wellock is well equipped for prophecy. IMO it’s still the easiest dungeon.

This original post is over a year old, we've had significant power creep since then, although Prophecy is still the easiest dungeon and your points stand.

Side note, Hunter is really good for Prophecy. Assassin's Cowl or Liar's Handshake with an Arc melee setup shred through it all the while giving you full HP regen.

I beat it solo btw. You do have to bring your B game at least and the right build.
