Why is freelance trials not a standard option?
I dont understand why freelance is SOMETIMES available it makes no sense, all of the most populated trials weekends are freelance weekends do they just not want us playing it? its boring playing against 3 stack after 3 stack, and this is likely just bad luck for me but i can never get an LFG group that doesnt lose their mind after one death or rage quit, etc. id much rather just have freelance games

because good players farm the "non-flawless pool" versus 3 solo

so just remove the option? doesn't seem like nearly a good enough of a reason for it

Because it’s originally a team based game mode, Freelance was added as a compromise for solo players, giving freelance every time defeats the objective the game mode was set to be.

Besides finding a team means making some friends maybe finding a clan to play regularly with.

It's not a standard option because Bungie has stats that show that the addition of Freelance didn't improve the win rate of randoms matched together enough to count it as a serious addition.

believe me ive tried, ive never found an LFG trials team that werent at least one elitist douchebag or someone who quits after one round. and none of my friends want to play trials for obvious reasons. so ♥♥♥♥ me i guess :/

Speaking pure bs cause the blowout rate lowered when freelance was introduced. Meaning people were winning more rounds and there were less 5-0 or 0-5 games.

This is the best answer.

Read the sentence again. These stats were from a freelance week, but the change was only significant with the flawless pool enabled. It's not just freelance. Hell, you can read the graph and see that the blowout rate for the base mode vs. the freelance mode is almost the same through out the 2 weeks compared.

"The overall blowout rate (games that ended with a score of 5-0) was almost as low as our best post-revamp week, when the Flawless pool went active Friday afternoon, at 27.8%. This was powered by the significant number of fireteam vs fireteam matches and solos vs solos matches, both of which had 25% blowout rates. "

It was a combination of the two. Not only that, if you look under the chart right below this line, you can see that thanks to the Freelance option, the matches were a bit more even than before. The issue they ran into was the lack of balancing in matchmaking. Freelance does help to a certain degree. I imagine the only reason they haven't fully added it is due to it needing more fine tuning and not wanting to piss off any of their content creators. Its already pretty obvious especially with the sbmm in control, that specific people don't want to have an even match.
