Every other game runs fine so I don't see why that would matter too much but those are the basic specs. I can bring up the more detailed stuff but I don't think that's necessary.
Then it would still be on your end though? The game is being played right now by "X" amount of people with no issues. It's being streamed by "X" amount as well and I can tell you I can play it with no issues too, but I am trying to help you and OP. The first question on any PC related issue, is of course specs. Seeing as destiny 2 can run on pretty much anything out now adays, it shouldn't be a factor, but it is number 1 in the questions.
The second question is, did you try a verification after the patch the other day? If for any reason you crashed, or shut the game down improperly, you can lose or corrupt files. The verify will find them and fix them. If the problem persists after that, then we move onto a new question, which would be, are you SSD, or HDD? To which the next question would be, if HDD are you in a corrupted sector? IF you're SSD, you'd do a test to make sure there were no issues etc.
Freezing on loading normally attributes to those.
Not a single person here said "Your PC sucks" though. However, seeing as the problem isn't widespread and is in the minority, it means it is something on your side, not the game's side. Which is why we resort to going down the tech questions.
Let me leave this little nugget here.
More that one person having game freezes doesn't prove a bug, different things can cause a freeze.
It looks like this is mostly on new hardware, people with old hardware don't look to be having this issue, I don't and I'm using a GTX 1080. GPU drivers CAN cause issues like this.
Other games working fine means nothing, unless those other games also at least run on Tiger. The drivers may better support those other games.
If there was a bug in the game causing the freezing, I think a good many more would be complaining.
Btw, saying X amount of players playing/streaming with no issues doesn't mean there aren't also X amount of players having bugs such as crashing or freezing, they aren't mutually exclusive.
It's just as silly as saying "more that one person is crashing that means it's a bug", no, it COULD definitely be on our ends and not the fault of the game.
Though the fact that's it's only been happening since new season AND there are multiple people with it do suggest it could be a bug, it's a little difficult to tell at the moment.
-----------------------right, back to the issue of freezing------------------------------
It seems to only happen during loading screens, mainly when it's trying to load the menu screen, the character select screen or just after I select a character and it's loading the game. Could be a read/write issue? Not sure how that works tbh.
Also it happens more often when I have other things open like I mentioned previously. I thought I'd also mention I have two monitors, one for games that is 144hz and one that is a 60hz HD TV for films/videos and what-not. I play everything at 1080p if that makes any difference.
I have just verified the integrity of the game files so I will have to see if that has helped with it, I'll drop a message in here accordingly.
Yes, back to the start, if you are still hearing audio from the game, it looks like the game didn't crash or freeze and only the video froze. This takes us right back to driver issues and runaway frame rate issues. Tiger may not play well with really high frame rates. I suggest capping it at something reasonable, there is no point in frame rates beyond your refresh rate, other than bragging rights.
You might also try borderless windowed mode, try everything, sometimes the fix is something you don't expect.
The thing with gaming issues is when a problem is widespread, it is widespread reported. There have been 3 confirmations to your complaint in this thread and this is the only thread that has complained about it. Now, if you versus it to the "Is the server down!?" threads that pop up when people don't pay attention to server messages? You can see my point.
I am not trying to insult you, but when a problem is in the minority, we just go down the tech problems and you can't immediately go "It's the game!" when this is all the case. More often than not, it is a software confliction or missing files.
OK, you are clueless.
"its happening to others including me" Proves nothing, many people are injured from making the same dumb mistake.
I've pointed out some things that could be an issue, you, you whine.
Edit: I'm out, some know it all yet can't fix their issue. Nothing I can do here.
people with much lower specs dont have an issue
all complaints ive seen on here are people using 3070s or 3080s
new tech, new problems
NVidia hasnt done a driver patch for destiny since witch queen launched.
blaming the game or others wont fix it, it looks like a bunch of people are having an issue. but it isnt on a variety of cards. its 30 series
im on a 1660S no issues, my mates using 2080 also no issues.
