what do you have to do to get a lightning round or is it just random

Someone wrote that Bungie confirmed on twitter/reddit ( ? ) that lighting rounds are random.

I would be more interested if someone actually had Vex/Cabal Boss lighting rounds, because I had 4 so far and all were Hive.

edit: now all i need to do is kill minotaurs,commanders,blight on legend
also complete dares on legend with fireteam of 2 or 4

I Had a cabal lightning round, It's extremely tough..

i think i also heard that completing it faster and with a higher score will increase your chances of getting the lightening rounds, but not positive

the round i got the lightning round was we killed boss at 10:05 and beat the lightning round at like 14min

While I have no reason to doubt this, I will just say that ALL the Lightening rounds I have had occurred during fast heavy hitting runs with players who knew what they were doing. I have never had a lightening on slow bumble through runs with lots of slow learners in it.
Not talking about Legendary runs either, just basic.

This isn't misinformation. You skimmed over said confirmation, because they outright said that being efficient and playing on the higher difficulty *slightly* increases your chances. It's still mostly RNG, but these two things ARE a factor.

From my experience you'll always get it if everyone gets the starhorse buff both times and finishes before 10 minutes the bonus round always shows up. I did a legend farm on the first day and we got the lightning round 5 times in a row with those 3 things.

From the few that I've gotten they seem to show up more if your score is above 180k and if you had good efficiency (no deaths, good time).
