Do I need a season pass 17 to get this gun in a drop from Nightmare Containment?

No you dont. You can farm it from opulent chests on leviathan.

So you mean I just do the Nightmare Containment and that chest at the end drops the gun? Because I did many runs already and they have not given me any of the guns..

The Nightmare Containment chests and the Opulent chests are NOT the same. The Opulent chests are placed in the Pools zone and the Gardens zone. There are (AFAIK) three in each. You must have an Opulent Key in your inventory. Opulent keys can be gotten from many sources in Calus' ship, but you can only carry one at a time.

I do NOT believe that Tears of Contrition can drop from an Opulent chest. I could be wrong, but I believe only the 4 Opulent weapons (Austringer, Drang (Baroque), Beloved, and CALUS Mini-tool) can drop from the Opulent chests.

The Haunted weapons should be capable of dropping from any "normal" activity on Calus' ship, including Containment runs, although the drop chances are higher if you turn in Vestiges of Dread to the Harvester at the end of the third phase.

Haunted and Opulent weapons can also be focused (using Umbral Engrams, Legendary Shards, and whatever the purple currency is for this season) from the vendor on the H.E.L.M. (the Crown of Sorrow).

All that said ... I don't actually know if the Haunted weapons will drop for people who don't hold the season pass. They're fairly common drops if you do hold it so ... if you've done 15 runs and haven't seen ANY, then you may not be able to obtain them.

If you've seen any of them, but just haven't seen Tears of Contrition, then that's just RNG.


Also, the patterns for the Haunted weapons (and the Opulent ones) can all be unlocked and can be created at the Relic on Mars.

You need the Season 17 pass to earn any of the Nightmare Containment/Sever weapons - Tears of Contrition, Nezarec's Whisper, Firefright, Hollow Denial, Without Remorse, or Bump in the Night.

Guys I got another question. How do i unlock the Forging of Tears of Contrition in the enclave?

Get it 5 times with red borders and fill the progression bar on that weapons.

How do I "Extract Patterns" ? Maybe I'll know when I get the red bar one.

When you get a weapon with red Borders, you need to fill it's bar by using it, when it's done you examine the weapon and "Extract" it's Resonant Elements. Do that 5 times with that weapon you want to craft and you'll be able to.

Note that some weapons with a red border cannot be crafted and are purely for getting more Elements. You can look at craftable weapons in the Triumph menu.

kill or do events or pvp or dungeons with it
