120fps on 1660Ti
Alright so I saw BUNGIE behind came out with an update on Instagram saying "120FPS For Xbox Series X and PS5" ya'll think it's possible my 1660ti can achieve 120fps if I turned all my settings to low except my rendering?

Console are under 500 because they cant put a 1k GPU in one and The Memory and CPU a PC can,,There is a reason E# is played on PC ,not console,PC will always have better graphics and FPS,your eye cant see faster than 60 ,so never knew why people brag at 120,0300 doesnt matter it looks 60Hz!PC are for real gamers that work and have some age,,or rich kids,,Console are made wit cheap GPU or they would be 1k dollars,,

This is a myth. The human eye can react to visual signals in under 1ms which means you can see up to at least 1000fps. There is also an incredibly noticeable difference between playing at 60fps and 120fps.

The difference between 144hz and 240hz is noticeable. The difference between 60hz and 120hz is night and day, lol.

This is just so wrong. Don't sell the human eye short, it's a lot faster than you think. I was amazed at the difference when I moved from 60Hz to 144Hz display. I am on a 165Hz now.

It's been shown in blind test (the test subject had no indication of what display was 60Hz or 144Hz) that the human eye can for a fact see the difference.

Some GPUs ARE 1K and above.

There was a study done a while back. Pilots were shown an aircraft for a single frame and they were able to correctly identify the make and model of the aircraft up to about 300 FPS.

There would still be a noticeable increase in smoothness beyond that, up to about 1000 FPS. Especially while turning quickly in videogames.

It’s so great that people still get trolled by “human eye can’t see high frame rates anyway”. You guys have made my day.

So to turn to the actual question, when the Xbox One X dropped it got Destiny 2 in 4K but no 60fps or “performance” mode. Bungie said the reason for this was because the aspects of the game like particle effects and physics weren’t being held back by the GPU in the One X, but the slow CPU. Right now on the Series X and PS5 there’s 120fps but only in Crucible, and it’s upscaled from 1440p.

With this game even on PC it’s more CPU than most other games because of the particle and lighting effects. That doesn’t mean your GPU doesn’t matter, but rather with this game more than most it’s a package deal.
