Help with Destiny 2 Beyond Light gift refund
Hi guys,

I received a gift for the pre-order of Beyond Light Standard edition DLC for Destiny 2 last month from a friend,

However I am thinking of going for the Deluxe edition after seeing the new Beyond Light trailer,

But since the 14 day refund period is over, it seems like I can't get a refund for it. Initially I thought since its a pre-order I can get the refund anytime before the DLC releases in November 10th,

May I please get any suggestions as to how I could get a refund. If the refund is not possible, if I purchase the Deluxe edition on top of the standard edition I have, would I get the additional pre-order content?

Thank you

As I understand it, you can't get a refund on something that was gifted to you at any time.
Maybe open a support ticket, they may help you upgrade to the deluxe pre-order.

Gifts can be refunded as long as they are within the time restrictions set by the guidelines

Have you tried going to your account summary and initiating a refund. This can be seen here on the following article. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=6643-QEUV-0459

Note that if it allows you to do this your friend will need to also do the same thing only you'll be the one checking the box that says "allow original purchaser of this gift to request a refund".

a refund may be issued for any pre-ordered gift prior to the game’s release or within fourteen days of the game’s release and with under two hours of playtime by the gift recipient.

The days owned rule doesn't apply here as the timer only starts ticking once the content has been released as far as I'm aware of so you will most likely be allowed to request a refund.

Pretty sure your friend has to start the refund on his end

Yes I understand, thanks. Right now I ticked the checkbox, I will tell my friend to follow this guide (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=6695-QIKM-7966) and this should allow him to get the refund right or is there any more steps I need to do, thanks

Steam will review the request once he puts it in and he will receive a confirmation of the refund within 24 hours.

From Stem library, hilight Destiny 2, on the right click support, see DLC you own, find that one and click it. You will be in the support for that, maybe the I purchased this by accident?

Isn't that just the season passes? Wouldn't it just be cheaper for you to get those and keep your gift?
