If you want the exotic so bad just do triumphs to get better drop rates.
Those triumphs to boost its drop chance doesn’t add much to the drop percentage (I haven’t found any hard data on the boost it gives but I would assume it isn’t much from other players and my own experience). I still do believe that the newest dungeons and raids that release should be farmable for all weapons and exotics. People want to play the new stuff when it is released and to limit the rewards they get to 3 times per week if you have 3 characters, I don’t think it is respectful of the players time or money. People bought the dungeon key to play it and get Icebreaker, not wait longer to just get it. And I think opening up the loot to be farmable just for the new dungeons and raids at least, even for a small amount of time like 2 weeks after release, would be more healthy for the game. Or rework triumphs to instead add a percentage increase, gives extra chances per week to have the exotic to drop.
I know I’m talking in a void, I highly doubt Bungie will change this since they have been doing it this way for so long.
