Destiny 2 freezing my PC.

In the last 2 days I have had Destiny freeze on me 3 times. I cant alt-tab or use task manager to close it. I have to restart pc everytime. Here's the pastebin link to my system report : https://pastebin.com/LUmGNAcG

What's your virus checker? Is it Avast, by any chance?

The only third party Anti-Virus software I have is Norton.

Avast used to give me rock solid, unrecoverable crashes, almost exclusively on Destiny 2.
The issue was that it was waiting for a manual prompt to update - once I realised this and told the client to update, the crashes went away. The next time I experienced one, months later, I checked Avast and it was the same thing.

If you're not using Avast, probably not helpful advice, but...check Norton to see if it's waiting to update, maybe? Just in case.

What do you mean when you say you can't alt-tab? What happens when you hold alt+tab? Does literally nothing happen?

I can hold alt-tab and see my other windows. But I can't get out of the frozen Destiny 2 window. I also attempted alt-f4 it did nothing. The only thing that worked was CTRL ALT DEL > Restart PC

oh my Norton is considered be Virus Itself at least Customers score says that but i must say its truth i have this one too back in time but say him good bye due to slowing PC

I think I know what you're dealing with. The same thing happens to me from time to time but you don't have to restart your PC, just your game. Next time you crash, CTRL+ALT+DEL > Task Manager, then switch to Task Manager using ALT+TAB. It may seem like nothing is happening because your screen doesn't change but you are in fact alt-tabbing like normal, you just can't see it. Whenever you want to view a Window hold ALT-TAB and look at its thumbnail. Use your arrow keys to navigate the processes list and make sure Destiny 2 is highlighted. If nothing happens then you don't have Task Manager selected as your active Window. Once highlighted, press DEL and it should close.

For what causes it to crash in the first place I'm not entirely sure. I don't think it has anything to do with your anti-virus software (I use Avast). When do you get crashes? Only when alt-tabbing / while alt-tabbed?

UPDATE: The game has froze yet again today after close to 8 hours of play. (Much better than before but sad it still froze). I did notice the audio in game was still playing. None of the above solutions worked. I have put Destiny 2 and BattleEye on an exclusion list for Norton. I will try and disable Norton and see if that will fix it.

Are you sure you did it right?

What happens when you hold Alt+Tab? Does it show all your open windows like normal?

The game hasn't froze/crashed if you can hear audio. My method should be working.

Same for me but I can’t do nothing literally nothing but the sound of the game continue to play the only thing I can do is press the On/Off button on my PC to shutdown the PC and my game crash like at ~10 min playing… pls if someone know what to do I need help … (only happens on Destiny 2 it’s the only game that freeze or crash my PC) please help 🥲
