Returning player, what should I know and buy?
Hey guys, so been thinking for a while to return to this game. Last thing that I played was back when Beyond Light expansion released and left it ever since. Was wondering what pack should I get, where do I start from and what is new in Destiny? Overall is it worth coming back after such haitus? Does it still remove the old expansions once new releases and so on? Thank you in advance.

If you played much before, you must know that you should have all DLCs overall, just because for this game having the whole bunch of content is better than don't.

Just wait for any great sales, purchase all at once. The only one thing that i might say, even if the Lightfall isn't that great in terms of story, campaign is still ok to play + raid is great. Strand is great too.

It's still Destiny 2, play the free to play a bit and see if you really want to come back.

Keep in mind that the sale ends in like 13 hours, you can get everything for something like $60.48. Note, everything does not include the dungeon keys for Witch Queen and Lightfall, those can only be obtained in the in game store for silver (real money).

Edit: typo

Is this a good sale that's going on right now or?

Any way to gain silver in game without paying additionally?

In a way it sucks, but dungeons were improved and we get two per expansion, a key is for the two from an expansion. As I said, it kind of sucks, but I can understand their point of view, more work and content is more money spent, so they want more money to pay for it with some profit.

Is it smart to buy all the DLC that's discounted heavily?

The current discount isn't that great if you dont play all that the game offers. Wait for 75-90% discount or potentially free before game revamps in some years if the game is still around. Even at that discount it's overpriced.

I would recommend The Final Shape ($25) and the Legacy Collection ($10) - even though you can play the Witch Queen and Lightfall campaigns without it, I don't think you'll get the rewards.

Lightfall Standard Edition*
The Witch Queen Standard Edition*
Beyond Light Pack**
Shadowkeep Pack**
Forsaken Pack
30th Anniversary Pack
Pit of Heresy Dungeon
Shattered Throne Dungeon
Grasp of Avarice Dungeon

* Dungeon Keys for Lightfall and The Witch Queen are sold separately.
** The Beyond Light and Shadowkeep campaigns are open to all players in Destiny 2 and are not included in this pack.

I think the people who made a complete mess of this game got fired over it.

I would say if you wanna get into Destiny 2, I bought just the legacy stuff and played for like 200 hours before I reached relative godmode with a basic subclass, but ppl are going to pick on you if you don't have prismatic/ the final shape unlocked when you hit the tougher content.

They'll basically just assume you can't dps. If you have tfs though, you can guardian rank up, suddenly they don't scrutinize so much. So that's why I say you will eventually want TFS- but you can start with just the legacy stuff tfs will be on sale again.

I have basically half of the legacy expansions so that's something. I will definitely look into that bundle. Thank you!
