Warlock Solipsism (Spirit of Assassin) Not working.

As it says above i have a solipsism with spirit of assassin and spirit of star-eater, made a funny melee spam build went to try it and nothing couldn't proc Assassin no matter what i did at first i thought it was the specific melee i was using so i swapped but no luck, then i thought might only work with finishers but nope i don't know what it could be and i haven't found any discussion on this anyone know something?

The exotic class items only works with prismatic subclass equipped.

Incredible that i couldn't find this info anywhere not even my friend who's been playing since launch could answer me.

The perks themselves do mention it, though it's on the details page and not the item's info box while you're on your inventory screen. Go to Solipsism's details page and mouse over the perks, they will say "This randomly rolled perk will only be active while a Prismatic Subclass is equipped".
