Escalation Protocol needs to count as Public Event or remove "Public Events Completed 0/2" from bounties. I can't remember the last time I saw an actual public event run on Mars. 9.9 times out of 10 its just EP.

Please Bungie, this is a teeny-tiny thing, but it's rather annoying. Just remove it from the bounty pool already.

EP includes a pub event if it's being run through and if a pub event is scheduled to run it'll run even after a failed EP wave.

The pain is real though when you're waiting on the scheduled pub event to start in 10-20 seconds and some fool pops EP wave 1....

True on the PE included in EP, but it rarely gets that far. Most people seem to use EP Wave 1 for quick bounty progression.
