Do you get any reward for killing Xol the worm god thing?
Its in the questline where you like turn on Rasputin or something? Anyhow I killed the worm god and the damn thing fell on me and killed me, does he drop any important loot? Was I supposed to pick up something?

Whatever you miss to pick out goes to your postmaster.
I don't remember he giving you anything special, except the Sleepr Simulant exotic that you only get after tons of quest steps.

nope, xol is a pretty lackluster boss, in lore wormgods are suppose to be extremely powerful, but with warmind he goes down easier than a level 1 dreg in the EDZ, and no special loot, except the transmat effect from then nightfall variant.

Originally after doing that quest, Zavala would give you Wormhusk Crown/Wormgod Caress/Verity's Brow. It was an end-of-campaign reward, kind of like how you get Assassin's Cowl/Stormdancer's Brace from completing Shadowkeep.

Yes, because Xol wanted to be killed so he could be our weapon, the whisper of the worm. He was also the weakest of the worm gods.

Bro big facts. The worm gods are supposed to be some of the most powerful beings in the Destiny universe. Xol should've been the final boss to a raid or something. Some other guy said he was easy because he's the weakest worm god. Even the weakest of them should have been WAAAAAY more powerful than anything we've killed according to the lore.

So lore is BS as far as the game goes, but exists only to fill out the story? Or maybe it was once part of the game?

Should have been a Raid.... Imagine walking around giant worm caves, planting explosives that when he come nearby, you detonate them, and you start damage phase. That would be nice, but no, instead we have a semi interesting strike that does not give you anything.

As I said before, he didn't even try, he wanted to be killed. He wanted to become whisper of the worm. Xol is not dead, no, no and no. He is drawing power from our kills with the whisper of the worm to reawaken more powerful than ever

kinda makes sense. What would be cool is if destiny brings him back stronger with the arrival of the black pyramids coming form beyond as shown in the rasputin bunkers.
