A fun weapon. Take a little time to experiment with it. Good spot is Mars with the continuous Cabal respawns and a little room to move.
Fighting Lion works with adjusting your normal method of firing (typically lift click).
If you just left click, it will fire off a grenade that can detonate on a direct hit but will bounce around and detonate after a set time if you don't directly hit something.
If you left click and hold, after a minimum distance, you can release left click and it will detonate on demand. Otherwise it acts the same as simply clicking with no hold.
The main key is learning the timing of the minimum distance before releasing to detonate and learning the general timing to make the detonation happen when the grenade is actually near enemies. It just takes practice to learn the right timings.
You may as well just spam through some playlist strikes using only the fighting lion and getting progress on your wendigo quest while you learn the timing -- as a primary ammo grenade launcher it's perfect for that. It doesn't pack the same punch as a special or heavy ammo grenade launcher though.
Neither of things work, either holding and releasing or simply clicking it :(
