New Light: A Guardian Rises. This is the opening quest for new characters. You should complete this quest before doing any others.
The opening quest of the Witch Queen campaign. This is to promote the new expansion.
The opening quest of the specific season you're playing in (S17 at the time of this writing). This is to give you the Seasonal Artifact, which everyone needs.
Yes, you're correct, the design is confusing for new players.
The Farm has been vaulted, it is no longer available to be played. The Red War, Curse of Osiris and Warmind have all been vaulted. The campaign from Forsaken has been vaulted, although much of the content remains extant.
If you want the details on what they vaulted and why I suggest reading the information Bungie provided. You can find that here: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049202971-Destiny-Content-Vault
You know, if you feel the need to cheat in a multiplayer game, as your ban suggests, perhaps you too shouldn't play games ;)
Thank you all for the answers, I tried it out and I'm not interested in a game that urges me to buy dlc's that someday get removed from the game.
Yeah, I have a game ban from a game I owned 5 years ago for an hour and received the game ban a year and a half after I refunded it. I fail to see how that disqualifies me from playing games. You on the other hand seem to be of low intelligence, which is a valid reason to think you should perhaps stick to finger painting with non-toxic water based paints.
Destiny 2's better off without you.
No, I definitely agree that it's kind of bad for new players, and it has been bad for new players for a while. The New Light quest has a lot of issues getting people invested. Quite frankly, they should make small quests for new players that tries to introduce them to whatever content is currently available. That way they aren't lost in the story and can actually experience it.
As an example for when they vaulted everything after Arrivals: They should have introduced New Lights to Cayde in a quest after doing the Shaw Han stuff. Afterwards, they would have to run through Arms Dealer and Exodus Down. Once that's complete, they would be recruited for the first mission of Forsaken. With that, they are invested in what is the first story chronologically available to them. That way, Cayde wouldn't have been a complete stranger to New Players for Forsaken. They'd be more invested in the fact that someone killed him.
