Reasons why raid people will kick you if you don't have specific weapons/dlc

depends but if a lot of you are new to a raid and some of the guys you're with can't fill in for their shortcomings, the raid becomes impossible to do. Most raids require you to make very minimal mistakes. If you can't minimize that on your part and there are others doing the same mistakes then you can just imagine how much lower your odds are at completing the raid and while if people had all the time in the world, they normally would put up with it because at that point, then its just a matter of developing a rhythm, memorizing the mechanics and just overall improving on the specific task. However people don't have a lot of time and people don't have a lot of patience either. This is why in groups that are experienced, you hear people on comms constantly reminding players of their roles. "I need a cleanse" "shield guy can you get that minotaur" or repeating the sequence of something over and over so that the guys in that role don't forget.

and so that's where the having specific exotics comes in. The final boss of any raid is usually about having enough damage. People will assume that worst case scenario, if you aren't pulling your own weight, at least you can be the person with the Gjally, or the Div, or the Tractor Cannon. That way, the rest of us can. Because you see, to be able to do maximum damage possible on any character, you not only need the build, you also need the right ability/weapon rotation.

Outside of Master raids, needing specific exotics is often trivial because the encounters get significantly easier the more times you do them in general. It may not be as efficient, but it will get done one way or another as long as you already understand the mechanics.

Gjallarhorn in particular is actually redundant in numbers since its exotic perk is literally built to require only one person to run it while everyone else runs a non-exotic RL. If people are unironically using "Gjally or kick" these days then they are just bad players who either couldn't bother to get Gjally themselves or refuse to dedicate one of themselves to using it.

This. Plus not every single raid benefits from the same weapon strategy.

Like Vault of Glass for example. This week I have ran the final boss over a dozen times trying to get the raid exotic to drop to no luck yet. But I have seen it all. Non exotic lmg’a, RL’s, lace, etc. usually at least one or two wells is all that farm group asked for and eve with the “non meta” builds we constantly two phases Atheon. Heck a few times got near one phases.

So yes your just dealing with elitism. Learning the mechanics and nuances of a raid is just as and even more important IMO.

Lol people who kick for not having Gally in D2 are stupid considering that A) Gally gives wolfpack to any non exotic rocket. B) in some cases some rockets have Exploding Light and that paired with the Wolfpack perk is just as good as if not better then Gally it's self.

If they are asking for RL's in the current meta then they are stuck in the past and just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird. LFR's are BiS currently, now if they were asking for a Divinity user sure.

Because they have no clue.

One Gjally buffs EVERY legendary, blue or green rocket launcher. The pack buff is triggered on EVERYONE. Having 6 Gjallarhorns is actually detrimental to the damage, and a lot so. You lose 5x damage if you run exclusively Gjally. That is assuming that people have vorpal/other dmgdealer launchers.

It is only necessary to have one Gjally, the rest can have either delayed explosion tier II crafted Palmyras or other launchers with Vorpal and Boss spec, to do millions of damage.

People who hurr durr about how its not true, fail to understand that Gally is not a Vorpal Autoloading Frenzy Delayed Payload all-in-one whatever launcher. All Ghally does is splurt out a whole bunch of additional microprojectiles on impact that do miniscule damage to a boss. The actual damage during a raid damage phase comes from other launchers being buffed and getting those mini munitions too on explosion.


But 6x Gjally, people who do that have no clue what they are doing and should sell their Gjally and use the glimmer and legendary shards acquired on a course on "how to raid" led by Hawthorne.

If you want the actual thought process behind this behaviour, pretty sure its something like this.

"When I use LFG, I have no idea how good the people joining my group will be. They could be really good, or they could be really bad. If they are bad, we may not clear the content, which means I just wasted a bunch of my time. Players that buy and play all the content and have all the equipment tend to be better than people who don't. Thus, by requiring certain equipment, I can increase my chances of finding good players who are well equipped enough to clear the content, even if it takes longer to find those people."

TLDR, their goal is to clear the content with randoms, so they are maximizing their chances of doing so.

Only one person need it to give wolfpack round to any RL. If you don't have any good RL use Linear fusion rifle.
