Screen tearing help
I'm back to destiny 2, didn't play it for like 2 month, and now i have a big screen tearing everytime i move, never happen before on destiny 2 before.

I'm playing a lot other game without any problem, my V SYNC IS ON, 60 fps lock, nothing changed, i don't know what to do, is horrible to play like this with a weird line moving on my screen.

In the 'Manage 3D settings' window, click on the 'Program Settings' tab. Select Destiny 2 as the program to customize. It may take a bit to load. Once you see the settings list load, scroll down to the 'Vertical Sync'. I set mine to just be On and that solved my screen tear issues. Hopefully this fixes your problem as well.

No screen tearing on window mode, screen tearing with window full screen on.

Look like i have solve this by turn off v sync and uncap fps, but did that mean i get more fps than my screen can show me ? If yes that suck.

First of all, use the edit button :)

Secondly, what is the native resolution of your monitor, run it at native resolution

Also what kind of GPU are you running
What kind of monitor are you running

Because it's better to use Freesync or G-sync, depending on your GPU and monitor (compatibility)

Hello man !

My native : 1920 x 1080 and its what i use in game for now with v sync off (because of the screen tearing).

I have a 1080 TI nvidia.

Never get a problem before, all driver up to date, this bug only happen on destiny 2 when i use v sync (was used v sync all the time before since the launch of the game without any problem).

In the nvidia control panel, does it say whether your monitor is G-sync capable or compatible? (those are two diff things lol) and is G-sync turned on? Because if G-sync is turned on, you don't want v-sync turned on

i don't see any G sync option. I use v sync since year on all my game even destiny 2, its since the last update i think this bug happen.

In your NVIDIA control panel, set up G-SYNC should be in Display. If not then I would guess your display is not a g-sync or compatible display.

No i don't see it. But that still don't explain why only destiny 2 got this problem since the update, and all my other game work fine (apex legend, back for blood, doom eternal)

Its a destiny 2 problem, not me, i play destiny 2 since the launch without any problem, they know this bug or not ?

I have not heard of a bug to cause that, I have a GTX 1080 and it's fine, but I do use G-SYNC so can't speak of what it would be off, though I could try.

Also, that "other games" gets old, other games ARE other and don't have the same engines and requirements, you could still have something on your system causing it, maybe even a setting in the game.

I had a similar issue with screen tearing and the in-game v-sync option apparently doing nothing. My fix was to go into NVIDIA Control Panel and force enable v-sync for Destiny 2.

I tried literally everything, drivers, settings, all of it. My monitor is advertised 60fps 4k ect... I turned on frame cap and just out of pure luck I was like let me try and put it on 59 fps cap in game settings and ill be damned if that didn't fix EVERYTHING. I hope maybe this one thing can help and save someone some time.

Note: you have no idea how helpful it is pointing out that you have to actually SELECT THE GAME IN THE MENU. Not a single video or post or article mentions that about the control panel. You are an angle.

I'm glad people are still finding my workaround fix helpful a year after making the comment (though I am a bit disappointed that this is still a problem).
