Stuck on "Checking for Updates"

I came back to try this game out with a friend and it seems my game is stuck "Checking for Updates" straight after title screen where it says "push enter". Last night I left this screen on for 50+ mins to see if it was actually downloading something, which didn't help. I've also tried running as admin, restarting my internet and my pc and verifying game files. Anybody know what causes this or how to fix?

I had this kind of problem and fixed it by disabling shader cache on NVIDIA control panel. After a while. you can turn it on again and your game should work fine.

Might want to try to clear shader cache as well. Which you can find out how to do by simple googling.

Doesn't seem like this or anything else that I've tried is working. Not really sure what to do at this point
