copium. Nobody likes the idea of a game you spent x years in and pent countless $$$ in falling apart because the development company is managed very badly.,

The game is definitely going through a very major transition right now. However, it is not dying or dead. There are still a large number of concurrent players. Everything planned has changed but there are no plans to simply end the game, turn the power off, and walk away. No one here nor myself are executives for either Sony or Bungie to know a single thing about what's going to happen and the future. If we were, we certainly wouldn't be allowed to talk about it here in the Steam forums for the game.

For now, the game is still operating. There's tons of content to do and finish and so on and so forth.

This knee jerk reaction everyone is having is allowed, but the fear and anxiety are taking over and that needs to stop. I myself do not believe the game is going to just die and disappear. It would be illogical to take that all away aside from destroying millions of players' favorite game simply because times are hard and greed and poor management and over zealous aspirations were at play.

It will pass. There will be hefty changes but for the better. My hope is one of optimism. Not pessimism.

Be optimistic. It can only go upward from here.

If people think this isint going to change how bungie's one revenue stream is made or monitized then thery're simply wrong. Plus reputable journalists have already said D2's content release cycle is changing in response to this, so it already proves everyone wrong.

Yes you are correct, but its being reported those hefty changes are to heavily reduce scale of future content drops, make them free to charge, and use into the light as a baseline.

The issue is that Bungie's single source of income is Destiny 2. With the push of Marathon to a unknown time next year, thats alot of time for something to go critically wrong.

In the end this drama is more due to this happened after a very successful expansion, which is making people's imaginations go nuts.

Jason Schrier is pretty well known for these kind of articles, but I guess being rude is an alternative.
450 people have been made redundant, 220 of them will be made redundant completely and 155 of them have been taken over by Sony and another 75 have been outsourced to a new studio

The 155 are the new people who are being outsourced to a new studio in Sony Interactive Entertainment. I have no idea where you're getting the 75 from.

It's not being rude to not care about something, but then there are those that think anyone not agreeing with them are being rude. Being well known, does not say is accurate or does not have an agenda.

Doom and gloom post, I just don't care. As long as I like to play the game, I will play the game. I'm not going to get my undies in a knot worrying about what might or might not happen in the future.

Yes, Bungie laid-off a lot of people but don't forget they are a big company and have 850 odd staff still there (split between D2 and Marathon)...it might mean things take a bit longer to arrive but I doubt it means the death of the game

More like death of Bungie.
