Why can't I seem to get even a single kill in Crucible?
I'm a returning player on a fresh Titan, and after several games, I've not gotten a single good kill in. I mainly play Halo and am a bit rusty, but it feels like enemy players do way more damage than I do at similar light levels. Do you need to gear up in a specific way for Crucible?

Power level advantages are completely disabled in Crucible so you don't need to raise it.

you can dominate with blue weapons just as easily as good gear. Its not a gear issue

OP, post some gameplay. We all need some levity from time to time.

Damage feels kinda RNG.. Im 2shot from an Ace of Spades with 100 Res, when i use this gun, i do like 60 crit damage when the enemy is right infront of me.. and sometimes i do 91 on someone far away lol

You don't have to play PVP - it's not for everybody, and in some respects, it can spoil the gaming experience, if you go in expecting to do okay and keep getting slapped around. I'm an average PVP player and quit ages ago, as it just put me in a bad mood. I'm also old, so I don't feel the desire to be sweaty and competitive nowadays.

There's no RNG, just distance to target and damage resistance that others might have going through buffs (Woven Mail, Frost Armour, etc)

may be ping or could be skills. game is matching us with players that are far away from us.

If PVP were actually skill based matching, it would be far more fun and fair. But it is almost all "open skill" matching, so it is not unusual you will get one-shot over and over by someone sliding with a shotgun.....

100 res isn't going to do much in pvp unless on a Titan. Better to shoot for 30 or 70 sweetspots. Increased damage on spades is because of it's proc? Dunno. Weapons have fixed damage at optimal range based on their archetype.

As for not getting any kills, we all get farmed at some point. Learn from your mistakes is the best advice I can give for Crucible. Is it fair and balanced? Nope.

I had to farm kills with Ticuu bow for the catalyst...ugh that was a headache of 50 kills WITH the bow itself, which is rough when it needs time to charge with Aim down sights to do any actual damage. if only other people stood still instead of flying all over the screen faster than i can follow. by the end of it i managed 4-8 kills per match usually with it. other bows were easier for me than that one after that. guns that need less planning and anticipation were a breeze in comparison after that slog for my first experience with pvp.

I found the easiest to begin with was an auto rifle with a lot of range. Lethal abundance was good for me.
And then you should look for rolls which help with range, targeting and flinch, like dynamic sway reduction, tap the trigger, zen moment, keep away etc. Only go for damage perks after that, since most of them require getting a kill first, which is the problem right now.
And PVP modes like Control with teams of 6 are easier to work with, because you are not 1v1 all the time. Maybe even try the Hardware modes when available (no grenade, melee, super).
And then expand from there... try out hand cannons w. good rolls. Use aimed shots instead of just panic-spamming fire.
I haven't tried PVP since TFS, so not sure if prismatic messes with everything.

it's totally a gear issue. Many people are farming for months to get godroll weapons and their armor stats. Look top pvp weapons and gear stats and builds in the youtube, it^s full of it.
