Destiny is in the worst state it has ever been.
Bungie killed Destiny for Marathon, but Marathon is DOA, they will never learn

yup even if they make another expansion i shan't bother getting it.
id honestly refund TFS and uninstall if i could. its been so ♥♥♥♥ so far, the only redeemable thing is prismatic and you cant use it all unless you do the worst designed, most tedious grind ever which ofc we have to wait til next week for them to do something about.

>Look inside "tedious grind"
>Doing a campaign and 6 missions that take 10 minutes each

Best DLC ever released, people widely agreed the game got better, then 2 months later we're back to square one. It was fun while it lasted.

Such is the life of a Destiny player

Their main concern at the moment is to make the game more accessible. It's not as bad as it once was, but the game is still very impenetrable. Things like Raids are a waste of time and money on Bungie's part and a waste of hardrive space for the player since less than 13% of the playerbase ever sees them, let alone finishes them. They should consider making more of the content accessible to everyone and split things like Dungeons and Raids into various difficulty levels, allowing matchmaking and even solo story play an optional.

If Bungie didn't think they were worth it, they wouldn't continue making them for 10 years straight.

Hi Im Swat Jul 31, 2024 @ 3:47am
I respectfully disagree. Destiny 2 has been fantastic since it launched in 2017 and I remain excited for its future. Destiny 2 is one of the best video games out there

Doesn't mean that they are worth it though does it? Like, 13% of the players get to see Raids, let alone beat them. Saying they are worth it because Bungie puts them in the game is like saying everything they put in the game is a good idea and everyone loves everything they put in the game. Bungie doesn't know what everyone will enjoy which is a big problem with the game.

Even World of Warcraft makes raids accessible. What possible argument can someone give that it's a good idea to make content that hardly anyone will get to do without looking like an Elitist Gatekeeper Parasite? The people who contribute the least to the games profits, success and well-being, and in-fact actually harm the games long-term health and success.

Just wondering where this information about the 13% came from? I mean, if you look at the rarity of raid emblems, the percentages of course vary from raid to raid, and depending on where you look for information, but for example Crota's End finished by 32%, Last Wish - 63%, Root of Nightnamer - 44%. Even if that's not accurate, it's clearly more than what you're talking about.

And personally, I'll add that what you're asking for would nullify one of the few pieces of content in this game that is still worth playing at all, in addition to dungeons and some exotic missions. What you're proposing is to nullify all of that and turn it into just more strikes. Games like this should have modes that are significantly harder than the others. If Destiny didn't have challenging raids, hell, Destiny would probably have died back in 2014. When a player sees another player wearing some exotic that can only be accessed in a raid, or a set of armour, it should ideally motivate them to try that content themselves. You're suggesting that everyone should have easy access to everything, that everyone would quickly complete everything and quit the game. This already happened with Destiny 2, in the very first year, when the game almost died. I love the quote from the developers of Helldivers 2 that they used to describe their game and that fits well with this situation. ‘a game for everyone is a game for no one.’

It's still one of the best games out there on the market..... I think that says more about the state of the market than the quality of this game, but you are lying to yourself if you dont think this is one of the better games available for looter shooters.

You sure about that?
Borderlands released 10/20/2009
Borderlands 2 released 9/17/2012

You know, to be a parody, it must come after what it is a parody of.

I love the Borderlands franchise, but you get what you get and there is never anything new.

Except the post makes it pretty clear that the layoffs don't have anything to do with Destiny's performance and more to do the overhead costs of the other projects that Bungie was working on outside of Destiny and Marathon.
