Download it and try it, there are two campaigns and other activities that are free, then you decide if you think it's a good choice. There is no way any of us can tell you what you will think.

Fun game, and great to play with friends or find new ones. I've made some of my best gaming memories playing this game.

Wait for a sale to buy anything that isn't The Final Shape. They happen fairly often so the discount is worth it. You'll also probably have to watch a bunch of lore videos if you want to catch up with the story as a lot of it is either Destiny 1 or was part of limited time seasons.

Thank you, but when i have fun with it, what i need for DLCs?
What else is pay to win or something in this game?

PS. Have played Destiny 1 years ago where it was not that concept.

This game isn't really pay-to-win. You buy expansions to play new content and that content has new gear to chase. You can't pay your way into good gear.

You generally need DLCs though as the f2p portion is only a small chunk of the game. You can access most endgame types but not all of them. The most relevant one is the always the most recent DLC which in this case is the final shape DLC which is one that I would recommend getting first even if the story will be hard to follow without lore videos.

Thanks for the answer, but basically it's enough to buy the last DLC? What about the seasons, is everything set to 0 every season or how exactly does it work now?

I don't know, buying all DLCs would be quite expensive?

Seasonal are just injections of limited time content. They come with new activities, story, and gear to chase. They leave the game at the end of an expansion cycle though we aren't 100% on that detail with the new episode model.

The seasons themselves only reset your pass rank and artifact power. Which is just the cosmetic reward track and the bonus power/perks that come with any particular season. This isn't like Path of Exile or Diablo where you restart the game every season. Gear and progression in generally is presistent.

The DLCs all together are expensive, which is why it is recommended to wait for sale for the older stuff. Also its not as much as it looks on the steam store. All the old expansions are bundled in the "Legacy Collection (2024)".

If you have money to burn, buy it.
I dont think its worth, for full experience you need to spend at least 200e, and if you want to join any Clan they will require to have all expansions.
If you just want to have fun with looter shooter and prefer to play Solo, better get Outriders.
I mean even tho Outriders dont have even 30% of content Destiny 2 have, you will need to pay 30e for Full Experience and you will have Blast since Classes in Outriders are much better and feel way more different then Classes in Destiny 2.
All in all its up to you, i personally dont think its worth starting now, you need to pay a lot of money and you will never catch up to old players.

Game's the FOMO simulator that constantly takes content away from you to force you to buy more. Download it, shoot some stuff, and forget it exists when you're bored, just don't ever buy anything as you will lose it after few months. Activities are taken away from you, and gear becomes useless

the game doesn't vault content anymore. as for seasonal activities, they're made to be rotated out so new stuff can come in. playing the same thing all year would be boring

They literally vaulted every seasonal activity from the last 2 years..... Including the red border weapons.

It's garbage.
imagine caring that much about salvage or ketchcrash, they all are the same.

You still can get most of the red borders from it by playing exotic missions from rotator

Totally Worth it. Ofc you missed alot of Seasonal Content and Seasonal Exclusive Weapons / Armor skins etc. but its okay. You can Buy an Legacy Collection 2024 key for about 20€ that includes Lightfall, Witchqueen, Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, Forsaken and the 30th Anniversary Pack. Plus another 30€ or better 50€ for The final Shape + Annual Pass, that includes the newest Expansion, plus i think 3 or 4x the Seasonpass and the Dungeon Key.

So for about 70€ (when you buy the Keys on other websites ofc) you have access to almost everything.

Imagine posting 2 of the 8 activities. Also most of the red borders are locked behind lfg in those. Most aren't easy to solo and requires a group which as we've seen, absolutely everyone hates.

And that also doesn't stop the fact of the original comment being about them vaulting...

most of the exotic missions such as presage or seraph shield are easy to do solo

You respond to someone saying seasonal activities are made to rotate out with this? Did you read it? They have removed the content of every season with some exceptions where an activity was kept. It's in the name, season/seasonal, not permanent.

Red borders, boo hoo. It's a looter-shooter, we have new things to grind for, maybe think about them. It's a constant in a game like this, you have it all, but then the add new stuff to get so the grind goes on.
