increasing power past 2,017?

really want to do gm excision, but I feel like I've hit the ceiling in power. I have only 2 types of gear at 1,999 power, the rest are at 2,000. not sure if a full loadout of 2000 power gear will bump me up to 2,018, but that's still 2 power under the recommended for gm stuff and bonus power has slowed to a crawl, requiring 5 million xp for the next light lvl.

so what are my options for getting closer to 2,020 power? or do 3 light lvls not make a big difference? or will act 3 make getting to 2,020 power more feasible?

The pinnacle cap is 2000 so your gear will never get higher than that all the rest is from your artifact. 3 Light levels doesn't really matter. Everything in a gm is stronger than you anyways and excision on gm is utter chaos it's more about knowing what to do and being with a party that knows what to do.

You don't need 2020 to do GM Excision. You'll be more than fine at 2017. People were doing it much lower than that.

Due to the 'Contest' modifier, GM activities cap you at -20 below the recommended, so power levels above 2,000 are ignored.

2000 is max you can get, the rest comes from your Artifact level and for that you just need to keep playing. Look at what your artifact level is, remove that from your light level and you will see your current "true" gear level. Don't worry about GM requirements, you will be always under leveled that how bungie handles things now
