No More Expansions? Is It Worth Continuing?

I read the news there will be no more expansion packs for Destiny 2. Just small "content packs". Is it worth continue to invest my time in this game? Don't really feel motivated if there are no major expansions driving the story forward. Am I reading/understanding this right?

Bungie has not said anywhere officially that there won’t be anymore expansions. There are still numerous updates and new content planned for Destiny 2.

Note the part I have bolded. Bungie has already confirmed there is no changes to content beyond Episode 3: Heresy.

Until Bungie provides further information regarding future content beyond episode 3: Heresy, everything is business as normal. Any information you find on the web outside of Bungie.net and Bungie's social media feeds should be taken with a grain of salt.

Only Bungie can provide official information.

Insiders have reported that expansions are going away yes, they will be replaced by smaller content drops like the into the light update. Just because Bungie hasn't said anything yet dosent mean it's not happening. So yeah expansions are going away.

Do you have fun with the game, do you enjoy playing it ?
These are the two main factor in deciding if you should continue playing it or not instead of following what others are saying.
The game is still there, playable.
If people spent less time online listening to those that have no interest in playing, they would still be playing this game. The negativity is killing everyone's joy.

The "leaks" come from an unverified source and were only reported on by gossipmongers like Jeff Grubb and Paul Tassi. They'll post any old rubbish trying to claim they're doing journalism, and its embarassing. For instance, Jason Schreier actually talked to devs and did his due diligence, and doesn't mention anything like that in his reporting. Don't believe leaks until Bungie state what the plans for the future are.

Take note they still have around 850 staff, and Destiny 2 is the only thing that makes them money. Marathon is unproven and they don't even plan to release it until 2025. There will still be future Destiny content.

Hasn't been worth for a long time, to me. Are YOU still enjoying it? Are your friends? Do you play with them, still? There are 21,000 people (a few thousand less than Destiny 2) still play Left 4 Dead 2 RIGHT NOW, so it not having new updates is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid metric.

No video game is worth investing in if you aren't enjoying it.
