Contacting destiny 2 servers...
Tried to play the game today, couldn't make it 2 minutes without a 'contacting destiny 2 server' message which then proceeded to kick me out of the game mid-strike almost near the end. Got weaseled. I have a wired connection. figured "eh wth, maybe it'll sort itself out if I wait a few minutes." 30 minutes later I log back in, get to the tower for bounties, then got weaseled again. Decided to try a different location, so i went to Xur's treasure horde but nope, wouldn't you guess it? Kicked me again. Bungie, you make millions, your servers are a joke. This is dogwater.

Destiny 2 is not played on any servers, it uses a peer - peer network to host matches. At the current time, Destiny 2 is fully online with no reported issues.

i had simlar issues today for no reason and the same messages.

no reprted isues indicates nothing and bungie are renowned for NOT ackowledging issues numerous players encounter.

there are servers and they do play a role in connectivity and collecting the data your use in activities. without servers nothing would work and nothing would be counted tabulated and stored.

It's important as well to remember how the internet actually works, your data can pass through several locations before arriving at it's destination. Your home connection can be fine and the game servers can be running but if there is a problem anywhere along the chain you can lose connection. There are loads of things that can go wrong that are out of you or Bungie's hands: a telephone exchange going down, a bad storm, a road worker accidentally cutting through a cable etc..

seems to be okay for the moment as of this post.

UPDATE: Played about 5 minutes in Dares and got weasel again. I give up

bruh even if the game uses peer to peer the main connection still comes from one of their servers if said servers start goofing arround that peer to peer feature becomes irrelevant since we all connect to a service still which can goof out and go offline etc...
