New player, where do i start and what do i buy?

Loving it so far, but i was thrown into the latest expansion scenario apparently and i'm now in a very green lush area after escaping that matrix stuff :D

Where do i start as a completely new player and what do i buy to have access to every content in the game?

im gonna be real the new player experience in this game sucks and its more free 2 try than f2p as most content is locked behind expansions

everything the game has to offer would be
-the final shape + annual (120$~)
-legacy collection items separately (100$~ bundle or 30$~ not in the bundle) (lightfall + witch queen + 30th annni + forsaken/beyond light/shadowkeep packs)
- 2 dungeon passes at 30$ each, both including 2 dungeons (30$~ never goes on sale so gl)

i think shaw han in the cosmodrone is where the new players start these days but idk tbh, other than that just do whatever you want, have fun with weapons in the strike playlist or play pvp in crucible. or you could do the campaigns actually left in the game starting with shadowkeep (F2P)

Isnt all the game has to offer being only TFS kinda deceptive? Guess we've just abandoned the plot, not that the game hasn't done that itself in this case.

I believe shadowkeep, beyond light, witch queen, and lightfall are the dlc which include campaign content.

basically everything except tfs is dirt cheap so pick up lightfall and witch queen for subclass and gear

To get the full experience I would recommend watching a youtube video for the lore - it's really interesting and adds to your experience in game when you understand the background behind your enemies/why you're doing what you're doing in missions. I would recommend buying the legacy collection when it's on sale - also if you're 100% new there is a legacy story line with some of the main quests to play through :)
