What is needed to start?
With so many DLCs what would be good to have to feel the "Full experience"? I know I dont NEED them to start.

the full experience would be
-the final shape + annual pass
-legacy collection (cheaper to buy it all separately with the sale rn about 30 usd)
- 2 dungeon passes only available in game at a stupid price like 30$~ for 2 dungeons

just getting the legacy collection items separately will give you most of what the game has

To START I would get the bundles that contain multiple older DLCs. It'd give you something to play if you want to wait for the newer stuff to drop in price.

Did they change them?
Edit: yes they did. There is only 1 bundle now, which is not on sale. Buying DLCs individually is cheapest this sale.

Realistically OP, just play the free game to start with.

It includes both the Shadowkeep and Beyond Light campaigns now. So you'll get a good chunk of content before you decide what you want.

If you like it and want more content, you can then buy the collection (though not on sale a total rip off right now) or buy the pieces :

- Destiny 2 : The Witch Queen (7$)
- Destiny 2 : Light Fall (10$)
- Destiny 2 : 30th Anniversary Pack (4$)

This will unlock all campaigns prior to the Final Shape, and the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon. That should be a good chunk of content for a pretty cheap price. If you're still in it after all that, you can grab The Final Shape. If you like the dungeons it gives you access to (I think you'll get Pit of Heresy, Shattered Throne and of course Grasp of Avarice with the 4$ pack) and want more, you can grab 2x2000 Silver to buy the keys. That'll give you 4 more dungeons, 2 per key.

The other packs (Forsaken, Beyond Light, Shadowkeep) are just weapon unlocks, not actual content, but they are pretty cheap on sale at 3$ each.

And if after all that, you're really into it, jump into the Final Shape and either get the Season pass or the Annual Pass to unlock the episodes as they release them this year.

I'd say try the free parts first.

And also, wait for a sale on ANY Legacy content. It goes on sale quite frequently.

A lot of the older DLCs are under $10 right now. Forsaken is like $3, insane deal.

I bought the legacy collection and its content for easy 200h and more. I may buy the final shape later, not sure yet.

They actually are content, they all come with the associated raid and dungeon aswell, ie pit of heresy/garden with shadowkeep

This is very helpful. I think I will take your advice and get these packs for now to start. Now I have to get over the intimidation of joining a game this developed and attempt to figure it out. May God Bless you for your kindness and willingness to help a stranger.
