I don't think anyone but bungie can give you accurate informations regarding the drop rates. What we do know though is: RNG and the Nightfall Score (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum) takes a very big role in the RNG mechanic. If you want the highest drop chance possible, you need to go for Platinum score, otherwise doing a single Grandmaster on Platinum score gives you a guarantee drop.
Also, you no longer need to aquire both version to focus them. If you aquired the adept version from a Grandmaster, it lets you focus the non-adept version as well.
I feel you.
I usually try to avoid the LFG for end-game content but I gave it a try today, found a group and we played 5 GM's which one we wiped, dispite the wipe no one was toxic. I also did a couple of Prophecy runs when the Fireteam Finder was still in beta and was also fine.
I'm not saying there is no toxicity but from my experience, I have no complains so far.
Eitherway if you wanna group up sometimes, send me a friend request in-game: Theblaze#5084
