TFD vs Warframe is somewhat closer, but I'd say that the closest game to compare it to would be the failed Outriders. Warframe is much faster paced, smoother movement, and just better fleshed out overall. But, that's not not entirely fair since it's had a decade to mature.
Due to the way Bungie handled story content with ripping chunks out Pre-Shadowkeep and all the seasonal story stuff, even if you own all the content, the story is unfortunately like reading a highly used copy of cliff notes for The Dune Sage or Lord of the Rings or
some other long and complex series.
TFD has been incredibly easy for the first few hours. I hope it gets harder. Warframe has a lot of systems you'll have to figure out as you play. The story in either game is.. kind of I don't know not great? TFD seems really generic and Warframe's storyline is weird and confusing imo. They added a bunch of story to Warframe in the past couple years with The New War and Durvari Paradox that I haven't gotten to get back to though so maybe it got better.
Warframe is fast paced and slick. TFD is a bit more grounded and needs to mature more, but it's not bad. I'd recommend you try both and see which shoe fits better if you want a 3rd person looter/shooter.
Great reply. I like the the OP. (And thank you OP for asking this question.)
Was also looking at all 3. I LOVE the design, both people, and hard surface modelling in TFD.
But I only play SP. for both time, and choice, not MP.
And never PVP. (As i'm just rubbish at it.)
I looked on YT, and saw that Warframe like TFD, can be played solo.
But, the viceos on YT also confirmed, as you said, D2, cannot be played SP.
2 very Quick follow up question, I have played a (very) little TFD, and enjoyed it, as I like the Halo games etc.
1- Is WF, very different to TFD?
2- And do you have to spend a bomb in WF to have a good experience?
I appreciate any help.
And gave you a couple of awards for your previous very helpful reply to the OP. 🥇🥇
Yeah the first descendant is a pretty good game considering it's completely free I tried it although the performance needs some serious work but then the performance of all UE5 games is trash.
I like TFD for Bunny she is fun to play and she is quite hot, being a Korean game character models is S Tier.
1. I'd describe Warframe as being a space ninja/assassin. You zip through missions at high speed and often high altitudes and AoE weapons are king for the most part. Melee can also be very strong. There is a lot of variety later on with surprisingly good spaceship combat, and also kind of Gundam style space robot combat that I didn't find very good. But again, most of these systems were not in the game at release.
TFD is more terrestrial focused, maybe I'd describe it a like being a generic special super soldier. I dunno, like I said, it's very much like Outriders in setting and play, maybe a bit like Remnant from the Ashes. Destroyed world invaded by aliens/extra dimensional beings and you have to reclaim it from big bad guy. Guns feel pretty solid, but melee is very lackluster and clunky. I'm not sure about skills so far, they seem really powerful, but for instance, Ajax's jump and knock back attacks are kind of lame animation wise. The grapple movement needs to be worked on a bit.
2. You can play Warframe and get everything without spending a dime, but the grind to unlock different Warframes can be pretty real. Purchasing Platinum is best used to trade with folks for harder to get Warframe parts as opposed to actually purchasing stuff from the store imo.
Thank you Kilbane.
Another brilliant, and super helpful reply.
By the sound of it TFD is more my thing. But now I know that WF can be soloed.
Personally the only thing that stuck out in the very limited (as yet) time in TFD, was how tinny, with no ooomf the assault rifle sounded. But that is nit-picking.
Awarded x 2. 🥇🥇
Thanks again.
I think your first decision should be if you want to play a first or third person looter shooter.
They completely killed Vindictus for me, a game where i was a day 1 player.. They always released overpowered new characters while not buffing the original ones, always pumping out 200+ euro outfits and 250+ euro wings.. Because yeah, that's what players actually wanted.. Several years ago, the country where i live at (The Netherlands) made their anti gambling regulations stricter.. Which Nexon had to obey, something i understand..
What i dont understand however, is how they completely shut my country out from the ingame market.. The ingame market is literally half the game, shutting us out for no reason made that game completely unplayable.. And here's the kicker, all the gacha stuff that you had to gamble a fk ton of money on was still able to be sold at that same ingame market..
Maple Story is another game that Nexon killed throughout the years....
At the end of the day, Nexon will eventually kill the player experience of the first descendant.. Nexon is infamous for doing this, only a matter of time..
But that's my personal opinion and experience with Nexon from the past... Hence why i can't stand them and will stay away from anything they will ever make.. Period..
If you still want to play the first descendant, go for it.. It's your choice after all, not mine.. Just giving you a warning regarding the way that Nexon does "business"..
