Low fps with 'high end' pc
Hello everyone,
Can some1 explain why I have low fps in D2? I'm well above the requirements for the game,
everything is updated. I don't understand.. Ingame I get around 140fps, but when I watch tv (stream) via the website/app of my provider I get around 50fps... Imo 140fps is already pretty low with this rig (if I'm correct}, anybody got the same issue?

My specs:
CPU; i7 8700k (upgrade incomming)
GPU: RTX 4070ti
MOBO: ROG Maximus X Hero (LGA 1151)
PSU: Corsair RM1000x
Monitor: 2x Samsung G7 27''

Thats why I have 'quote's' around it :) But I get higher fps on other games, which in comparison is weird.

Destiny is a CPU heavy game. You're eating ♥♥♥♥ because your CPU is doing double time if you're doing other stuff at the same time.

You mean uses a single core outside of data loading, ignores ht/smt cores, and that the game engine is outdated. d2 here practically sits at 5% cpu while ingame world/strike activities. edit: with fps unlocked.

And yet his CPU should be able to run the game smooth AF cause I run a weaker rig and run it at max.

No clue what you're talking abnout either.

@OP Try messin g with geforce control panel and vsync for both monitors cause that might be messing with the other.

"2,560 x 1,440" Yeah thats generally not going to go well.
Idk check task manager prob CPU bottleneck atm

I did check a couple of times but cpu is not at 100% workload, neither are the temps indicating that they are in heavy stress situations, the temp of my cpu is around 55-60°C

I know that my cpu is old, but I imagine its still strong enough for games like D2.

bro using a CPU from the stone age geting giga Bottle necked by his 4070ti and than complain about unstable and low fps... classic

That's a pretty significant drop. Sounds almost like the streaming app is somehow stealing focus or changing your refresh rate. Have you tried changing the game to fullscreen windowed? Or if it's on that currently, try fullscreen. Also turn off vsync if that's enabled.

I could understand some occasional frame dips from playing video, but it shouldn't drop you to a consistent 50fps. The game really isn't that demanding and it's still on the same engine from seven years ago.

Its indeed a significant drop.. I tried to put D2 on a much higher priority but that didnt seemed to help either, I know I have to upgrade my cpu but that can't be the only issue, because I get better/decent fps in other games thats more demanding than D2

1. So how does your input solve my problem?
2. If you're blind I suggest going to a doctor to help with glasses that matches your visual dissability, I said 'High End', it does not say 'My super powerfull high end pc'

I know I'm getting bottlenecked, thanks sherlock!
I don't complain, I merely asking for suggestions/ideas/solutions, cuz in other games I get better/decent fps which are more demanding than D2 is, Ram is on 3200mhz so I dont get where you get your stupid assumptions.. its ONLY Destiny 2 and not Arma 3 you know ...

Checking overall CPU is meaningless.

Check per core usage. If you have a or two cores pegged, you're running into a problem where D2 just wants faster cores.

My CPU is 16 threads. If I start a single threaded benchmark, it'll sit at like 7% usage. Because that's 1/16th of my cpu. But that's 100% usage for that thread and the benchmark can't do better because of it unless I get a cpu with better single core performance.
