the update tomorrow is free so take your time grinding and getting god rolls.
So you would say, it's possible to get into the game.
Is a quest line which I can follow?
ofcourse ,new light quest annd coming today you can even skip new light and play with friends in the new mode
Unfortunately, unless you are willing to go the extra step and install Windows on your Steam Deck, Destiny 2 does not run on it due to the anti-cheat not being configured for Proton. I'm not certain about GeForce Now, so someone else can answer that, but given that it is a cloud streaming service, I would believe it can run the game.
There are three free raids to do, these are all reprised raids from Destiny 1 (King's Fall, Vault of Glass and Crota's End). There is also a dungeon that is free for everyone to play (Prophecy). There is an intro story, but it is pretty barebones and starting later today after the maintenance, you will be able to skip it entirely. You do get access to the Strikes, Gambit and Crucible playlists.
To have full access to everything you will need the following:
- Armory Collection: The includes the Forsaken Pack and the 30th Anniversary Pack
- Lightfall + Annual Pass Edition: This includes the current expansion (Lightfall), the Lightfall Dungeon Key, and the seasonal activities from this past year. Do note that seasonal activities will be removed in June when The Final Shape comes out.
- Legacy Collection 2023: This includes Shadowkeep, Beyond Light and The Witch Queen Expansion.
- You will also need to spend $20 in the in-game Eververse store to get the Witch Queen Dungeon Key as this is no longer bundled with anything else.
For reference in what you are getting from each DLC:
- Forsaken Pack: You get three Forsaken Ciphers to use to trade in for a Forsaken exotic. You also get access to the Shattered Throne dungeon and The Last Wish raid.
- 30th Anniversary Pack: You get access to the Grasp of Avarice dungeon and the Gjallerhorn exotic rocket launcher as a reward from it.
- Shadowkeep: You get access to the Pit of Heresy dungeon and the Garden of Salvation raid.
- Beyond Light: You get access to the Stasis subclass and the Deep Stone Crypt raid.
- The Witch Queen: You get access to the Vow of the Disciple raid.
- Lightfall: You get access to the Strand subclass and the Root of Nightmares raid.
- The Witch Queen Dungeon Key: Gives access to the Duality and the Spire of the Watcher dungeons.
- Lightfall Dungeon Key: Gives access to Ghosts of the Deep and Warlord's Ruin dungeon.
Only you can determine if the game is worth it for you. I would say that as a F2P experience, it's okay with some of the best feeling FPS gunplay in the genre. However, the story will be very lackluster for F2P as the New Light questline is very abrupt and barely explains anything. You do get access to the first mission from each expansion as a teaser.
OK. That's a huge amount of content need to buy.
I will give it a try later on.
I would use Geforce Now, so I should work with Steam deck.
All other planets require dlc
Maybe if all you had to do was buy the most recent expansion like WoW and Final Fantasy does then it may be worth it but as it stands now it really isnt. The shooting is fun and getting loot is satisfying but you will be confused out of your mind in terms of the new player experience as well as the lore/story so I would just say avoid it and play something else.
If anything play the free trial version and see if you like it but just be warned you have to put in a lot of effort and consume a lot of media on YouTube to understand what tf is going on from a new player perspective or even understand the game mechanics to begin with since Bungie does such a bad job explaining and laying things out for new players.
